Just the ticket for a clumsy cat burglar
I recently lost my overpaid position at one of the top London money laundering houses – I mean investment banks – I think that proves Freud to be right again. Anyhoo, my package wasn’t as big as I had imagined (not the first time such a feeling has befallen me either), so I realised I needed a new career and fast.I tried being a ‘dole scrounge’ but then I saw what they expected you to ‘live’ on – that wouldn’t even keep me in coke for one night and I am not a Pepsi fan – if you know what I mean. So I decided to carry on my chosen career path and steal other peoples stuff – talk about a light bulb moment.I struggled at first actually getting into peoples homes but then I had a brain wave and bought this ‘bad boy’ and my career has taken off. I first make sure the ‘target’ is out by checking their facebook profile and then turn up and smash the bejesus out of their window and then bish, bash bosh I am in and out quicker than you can say insurance fraud, which it can be if you ask nicely. The Stanley or Stan as I cal it is perfectly balanced made of top quality steel and has a grip that is nicer than the steering wheel of my Porsche. So for all your extra curricular needs or just if you like a big tool – then look no further.

A really nice hammer.
I lost my last Stanley hammer I'd had for 25 years and had to order a new one. This feels good in the hand and is perfectly weighted. Two days after it arrived, I found my old one, but I'll stick to the new one!

Annoying Plastic Coating
This is clearly a nice hammer. It appears sturdy and well made. It is nicely balanced and comfortable to grip. The annoying bit is that the head has been dipped or otherwise coated in a plastic film. With the obligatory safety labels and other stickers, it looks like the head has been extremely well shrink wrapped. So initially I made some marks on it trying to cut off the wrapping - annoying! Then of course if you hit anything with it, you mark the coating over the face and it looks unsightly and would rapidly become quite uneven. I scraped the coating off the face and cleaned it a bit with fine emery so now the face is bare steel. I guess when I come to use the claw, that too will look beaten up in no time. Will someone please tell the buffoon at Stanley’s that their coating is a naff idea!

Hammer
I first bought a Stanley hammer like this back in the early 60s it served me well so I have now treated myself to a new one as it is past its best. Good price, cheaper than I paid for the original. Seems to be similar quality. Time will tell.
