the wood is super dense. you can really feel the excellence in their design. in this case you really get what you pay for. the presentation is terriffic. at first glance you might say...they look plain... what is so great? i assure you, they are stellar. i actually look forward to the next use of them. im often wowed by things made in JAPAN... these chop sticks really impressed me. nothing flashy.... just simple excellence. this company should be very proud of their product. makes a great gift for newly married couples too! brown rice & tofu... here i come! I don't have anything negative to say about your product, I think they are beautiful and can't wait to use them. I am going to adjust them a little so they are easier to use they don't have very much grip at the tips there are no ridges that will make holding food, so I will put some on them. Also the little wrapper around them is also beautiful but it is made of sticker material so I can't put them back in when I am done eating, I don't read Japanese I wish there was something in the box to help me understand what is written on them . I will probably buy another set in the future, thank you so much for a wonderful set of chopsticks. They even came early! :-)

Taiwan has better hard wood than Japan. During WW II Japan took lots of great wood from Taiwan, all of them were over one hundred years old. Many of Japan temples were built by those hard wood which can last forever.

I used these chop sticks to practice before my trip to Japan. Practice makes perfect!

They're different sizes but not different lengths. These are not your usual throwaway ones, but very well made. The men's is a bit heavily weighted and easier to hold in my hands, but still easy to use with a delicate point. My wife finds hers exceptionally easy to use. Very high quality and have held up perfectly being used weekly for over a year.

Simple design and made in Japan. I like their length, not too short.

The posting showed a big red sticker that said "made in Japan." That does not appear on the actual box the sticks came in. I don't read Japanese so if they are indeed from Japan, I will never know. The are very nice however and will be used for sushi and noodles. Naturally.
