Actually it is a novelty, but it was a hit at Memorial Day picnic. And it does provide more little edges if you like a crispy edge on the dog. Glad I got for sure!

This thing works very well! We like our hot dogs well done with a crispy crust, and this adds just the right amount pizazz to them! We typically use it on only one side of our hot dogs, so we don’t cut all the way through them. Throw it on the top rack of the dishwasher and you’re all done. Definitely a time saver when you cook for a crowd, but worth getting out when you only are cooking for yourself. I would purchase this item again.

I’m quite happy with the results we got on the skinless hotdogs we grilled, but I didn’t read the whole description when I bought the Slotdog.I only buy natural casing hotdogs and this doesn’t work with those. I’m sure I’ll have a reason to use it in the future, but for now it’s living in the back room with my assorted grilling tools.

Item worked great and the dogs cooked very well with the cut.

This is amazing. Never in my life did I think I would need something like this, but the way it makes hot dogs taste is *chefs kiss*. This sat in my "saved for later" for literal months until I pulled the trigger on ordering and my whole family is obsessed. They all want the "bougie hot dogs" now.

I really gave them a try. I was hyped up to get the nice pattern for those crispy edges on the grill. But thats not how it went at all nightmare purchase.Does it look cool yeah but using it thats another story. Not as smooth as I thought it was gonna be. I had to use my whole weight and lift my arms to really press down and make the marks.It ended up costing me more too. It doesn't work on regular small hot dogs from Walmart . The cutter goes right through them almost cuts them into small pieces. I had to buy bugger Winnies to be able to even press down and leave some marks.After making all those changes and having to use the strength of hulk it does do its job and looks nice. Its just not practical for me

Love it and hotdogs just taste so much better.
