Good quality,chops and slices well
Good size and weight for when you need a smaller cleaver. Good quality and recommend it, so nice I got one for my parents and myself

Great cleaver with a multitude of uses
I was after a decent and relatively inexpensive cleaver for home and outdoors (BBQ) use and thought I'd give this one a go. I've been using this for several months now.I love preparing and cooking big joints of meat and fish and having friends and family around to feed for the day, especially in summer.I've never used a cleaver before until I tried this one. I have cooked some big joints of beef ribs and pork belly, several chickens on the go and various foods and thought that something like this would come in handy. I wasn't wrong! This is a nice cleaver. Very well constructed from stainless steel and well riveted wooden handles. The blade section is 6 inches which is smaller than a butchers cleaver but easily good enough for home use and with a bit of welly, this thing can cut through some thick joints - bone and all!I will say it does come sharpened but I did sharpen it to a razor sharpness in order to do some fine slicing and herb, veg chopping. What have I used it for?- Cutting up (uncooked) meat joints - beef, chicken, duck and pork- Slicing and dicing fruit - vegetables and herbs- Cutting up cooked joints of meat- Cutting up frozen smaller meat and rib joints- Moving things around on the BBQ!The blade is quite thick and comes to a sharp edge. It does have a bit of weight to it which is what you want. Cutting thick chicken breasts on the bone is easy enough with this by just making your mark and pressing down on the spine of the blade and pushing it through. You can of course just bring the cleaver up and chop down straight through in one swoop. I've used this on some big chicken breasts with great success. You know those big joints of beef ribs that are around fifty quid a go? This is great for splitting those before or after cooking. I've also used this cleaver to prepare and gut a whole salmon on a few occassions. It does take a bit of practise (as does anything) to be able to use this (rather than a dedicated fish knife) for the finer things like trimming the strip of fat from inside a salmon and taking the sides off but it does it look impressive working away with the cleaver. With the broad blade - the spine is great for banging and bashing things like ice - ginger, garlic and herbs, tenderising ribeye steak and If it's sharp enough you can skin a fish - quarter a duck - make paper thin slices of carrot and potato - finely slice cucumber and spring onions - , slice lemons and limes.Quite versitile once you get used to it. Make sure you keep it sharp though and there's a handy hole in the blade so you can hang it up high on a hook out of the way of anybody who shouldn't be near it!Recommended

Good Cleaver - SHARP! Heavy as well!
I would give this cleaver 5*'s but I saw another on here for half the price that looked suspiciously similar...The knife has a good handle - feels solid in my hand and I have big man-hands. The blade is quite sharp and I can see a few 'owies' happening in the future if I am not careful. I needed a cleaver (on a budget so I didn't go for the £££ ones). For the price paid I am very happy, though if the one I saw is the exact same on with different branding I will feel slightly miffed. I haven't cut too much up with it so cannot say how long the blade sharpness lasts (I always sharpen up blades every other time I cook with them anyways) but the build quality seems quite good.If you're on a budget like me and still a smart shopper (ha! maybe delusional??) I think you can do well to get this cleaver. You could buy much more expensive ones, but if your a semi-pro poverty chef (wink wink) I think you will do well with this item. I am happy! Still have all my fingers too, but going to have to be diligent when using this knife I am afraid...OH - I forgot to mention it is a heavy blade - doesn't feel wimpy when using it! That's a good thing!

Woth the money
A cleaver. I've always wanted a cleaver so burglars out there beware in case I grab it & chase you around te house. Not that expensive actually. Beautifully crafted the either if really good. Can't wait to start using it but it, like the sheathed knife, it only arrived today, Christmas Eve.

Purchased primarily for vegetable preparation- Excellent
I use this almost exclusively for vegetable preparation and once you get used to the cutting action you can get excellent fine cuts and it dices veg perfectly.

A true kitchen essential..!
An essential tool for daily use in the kitchen..! And if you have someone, say a teenager, who's in love with foods from the far-East and thinks they are the next Ken Hom (!) then this is the world to said teenager!TMI.? Okay, let's just agree that if you do a fair bit in the kitchen, chopping veg, slicing onions or making your own chips (and who doesn't love a homemade chip!) Then this is exactly what you have been missing. It's a sturdy, well made and well balanced mini cleaver.. It has a keen blade that doesn't dull quickly at all.It really is as good as it looks.! Trust me, you won't be disappointed.!

Not perfect, but great knife for the price!
Mine arrived marked, it looked like a smudge on the metal but it's a proper marking, almost looked used. Usability however - fantastic. It has a good weight to it and is sharp enough, I'v bought a knife sharpener now just to sharpen it up even more as it's not razor sharp, it's very very sharp however, just doesn't slice as cleanly as I want. Also it's a lot more squared than it appears in the picture, it looks curved in the item photo - it's not. Great knife, great price.

Handy cleaver
Ideal size for my needs. Keep it sharp and in good condition for dicing and slicing meat. Chopping vegetables is not tiresome with this smaller cleaver and the lighter weight makes it more versatile to use.
