Huge upgrade from Mint
Absolutely thrilled with this product. After it was purchased from Intuit, Quicken for Mac has become an entirely different product. Intuit obviously favors Mint, an ad driven barely functioning monstrosity, and in doing so, they had completely neglected Quicken over the past few years. I moved to Quicken from Mint a few weeks ago after becoming tired of 2-3 minutes page load times (their slow servers. I have a 1gb speed plan and it's the only slow website I ever encounter), incorrect dates on bills, constantly broken financial institution connections and horrendous "customer service". I was missing bills, blowing my budget and starting to just give up. Yes, there are a few features this is missing but it's smooth interface and organization easily make up for that. I love this product and will continue to support it. Very happy customer.

READ before you buy and consider alternatives !!!
This review is for Quicken 2018 Premium. My prior product was Quicken 2015 Home and Business. I normally do not write reviews. It is hard to give one start to a product that, once you spend countless of hours reconfiguring it, it works almost as good as the 3 year old version that it replaces. But that is exactly the issue.Quicken stopped providing online banking support to download account data to Quicken 2015 at the end of April 2018. So, as many other long term users of Quicken, I looked at the number of bad reviews about this product in Amazon and with tepidation I paid for a 14-month licence to be cautious. Afterall, I was happy with Quickent 2015.A Quicken license bought directly from Quicken is 12 months vs 14 months at Amazon for the 1-year product. Quicken insists on signing up the user for a subscription service (which can be cancelled, but the reviews on the cancelling process are scary).I downloaded the Quicken 2018 and installed it. It ran fine, but the first impressing is that the graphics are set back to circa 1995 in quality for no good reason that I have discovered.I loaded my data file from Quicken 2015 into Quicken 2018 and the conversion process appears to have worked fine. I have not detected any errors that result in balance differences or lost of much information (there were a few errors in the import in a large database). Then I decided to download my institution account data using their online banking and that is when the problem started. At that point, I had the same download problem that I had with the Quicken 2015 -- minus ~ $65 and with poorer GUI looks.I followed the sparce comments online and that did not work. I started a chat with Quicken and went through the countless non-sense of describing PC configuration items to the Quicken helper. The approach I was suggested by the chat helper kept removing the institution login credentials without fixing the problem. It became clear the Quicken helper... was no help and eventually he/she terminated the long chat as I was typing a response following his/er advice. Rude at the very least. Not endearing to the customer certainly. After setting a faux file with one account to verify that indeed Quicken 2018 online banking would actually work, I spent hours removing each instution login credential and re-entering then, linking them to the database accounts and testting the downloads.About 4 to 6 hours into this mess..... I had the same functionality of Quicken 2015 -- minus ~ $65 and with poorer GUI looks -- that I had for the last three years before Quicken forced me to "upgrade".My comments to others is that if you do not have a long historical database, do not need some of the feature in Quicken and/or do not mind having other thrid parties hold your financial data in the cloud "for your convenience" that you look hard for alternate products. The amount of time wasted trying on your own with almost no real up-to-date debugging information to try to work around the problems created by Quicken for no good rason at all is not worth the time -- which is worth a lot more than the product license. This product deserves no stars simply due to the attitude of Quicken to force customer to buy a product than is no better than the one it replaces just to generate a cash flow for the corporation. I would have been happy simply keeping the old Quicken 2015 and just pay for an online service subscription.

Crashes at least twice a week. Bad support.
Some of the more buggy software I've been forced to use (and I've done IT for both government and non-profit). If I use it for any considerable length of time, I have the expectation that it will crash. The technical support is also amazingly daft and will take the opportunity to blame you instead of trying to understand the problem. They don't want to help -- they want the ticket to go away.

**** IF YOU USE E*TRADE 2-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION DO NOT BUY THIS ****
**** IF YOU USE E*TRADE 2-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION DO NOT BUY THIS ****Great Promise -- Huge Letdown: The promise of being able to do both Financial and investments finally on the Mac OS was huge. Only then after purchase run into a brick wall. E*TRADE Support is horrible. If you use "Express Web Connect" your account will be locked up because of the 2-Factor Authentication. If you attempt to use "Web Connect" the software will tell you "Web Connect support for your financial institution has been either temporarily or permanently discontinued." You will be forced to manually enter all your transactions....thank Quicken great step backwards on your software.

Doesn't give me an accurate financial picture
I've been running it two weeks now. It's inaccurate and I cannot rely on it to give me an accurate picture of spending activity. I could expect it to maybe take a few days to get everything tallied, but this is too long. Given direct links to the accounts, I expect better accuracy than this is showing me.

Great!
I have been using Quicken since 2008. I decided to update to 2018 so I could update my accounts on my new laptop. The files transferred seamlessly. I began to update my accounts as if they were still on the old software. No Problems. Great!

It doesn't work with my bank. NO significant advantage over 2017...
The lease option is not my liking but that is unfortunately the way things are going with software.DON'T BUY IT! If you are using 2017 stick with it...It doesn't work and they don't seem to care. It wouldn't download. Then it downloaded but duplicated my transactions for over a year. Then I started fresh and wound up, while following their online support duplicate accounts and triple entries in my register. Can't find or download my HELOC transactions....They blame the bank but that is becoming more obvious. The software doesn't work. At least with my bank.
