Star Wars: A New Hope: The Princess: The Scoundrel, and the Farm Boy

The audiobook is by no means a poor piece of work, but most likely aimed at kids, than adults. I brings to mind the audio tapes, with booklets to go along with them that came along with the movies in the eighties.It's all fairly banal, but still entertaining enough for me listen to when I do house chores.So as something to have muttering in the background as you work or entertain kids that are fans of starwars, this would fit the bill.

What more can be said about A New Hope? An incredible story from start to finish.

Doesn't tell the whole in that some events such as how Luke came to possess the droids don't feature but this is, nonetheless, a welcome addition to the Star Wars canon. Aimed at younger readers and young adulys, it is a retelling of the original Star Wars movie with the purpose of introducing them to the galaxy far far away for the first time with a focus on our three heroes: 'The Princess', ' The Scoundrel' and ' The Farmboy' . While there are extra scenes that don't feature in the movie, my only regret is that we don't see more Vader. All in all, it's an easy and enjoyable read if not a must read for anybody trying to come rock grips with the new Star Wars canon following the Disney acquisition. 4 stars.

Alexandra was a great choice to write this amazing new novelisation as her other readers will confirm! Darkest Minds series author takes on Star Wars - it was always going to be tough to please a galaxy of fans, but thinks she carries it off brilliantly here. Even she was a bit scared of the challenge - see her interview on the official Star Wars site. Great for younger/teen readers in particular. A new angle on a familiar story! Delivery and packaging as usual to the high amazon standard! I'm so happy!
