Works Great! But.....
These things work great for keeping rocks/sand/debris out of my hiking boots. As a a lot of previous reviews stated you may want to consider buying the small size instead of large. I took the advice and it fit my size 13 X-Wide Hiking boots perfectly. If they were any bigger I'm not sure they'd work.I'm giving these a 5 start rating, BUT there is one downside for me. I live in the Arizona desert and typically hike when the temperatures exceed 100 degrees. The first time I wore these Gaiters I hiked 14 miles and the temp started around 90 degrees and went beyond 100 by the time I was finished. For the first time in years I developed a blister on top of my pinky toe. When I took my socks off to put on some mole skin and tape I noticed that my socks were soaking wet. This is not normal for me and I can only attribute it to the Gaiters making my feet very hot and not allowing air in or out of my hiking boots. When I got home and took both socks off my feet looked like I'd had them soaking in water for 6 hours.Aside from my particular issue with the heat, these Gaiters are very well made and work as described. I would recommend them but be prepared for possible blisters if hiking in extreme heat.

Keeps the debris out !
Ordered 2 pair - one for me S/M (size 5 shoe, thin calves) one for husband L/XL (size 13 shoe, large calves). Based on reviews they fit as expected. Mine do slide down slightly and balloon around the ankles -- not too bad with socks and better if I twist the gaiters slightly. Hiked for a week in deep sand, small rocks, trails with debris. Gaiters worked great keeping everything out of our boots. Easy to get on & off. Will be hiking more over the summer and see how well they hold up with longer use. They were also easy to clean -- just rinsed off with hose and air dried.

Works for me.
I've only used them a couple of times, but like them so far. I first ordered size large due to reviews saying how small and tight the fit was, but they were way to big. Will give them to my husband. I ordered a second pair in size S/M and they are much better. I am female and wear size 9.5 'high' hiking boots and the fit is fine. They are a little tight at the top but not uncomfortable and it keeps the debris out. I have not worn them around long pants yet either, only with shorts. But I have another pair of long gaiters I wear with long pants. Haven't used them in water or deep mud yet. The velcro is very strong and closes tight. The strap under the boot I'm not so sure about. It's a stretchy rubber material that's doesn't seem all that substantial, but giving it the benefit of the doubt for now. I think for the price it should have a better strap. They are kind of stiff and bulky looking but as long as they do the job, that's OK with me. It is very nice to have clean socks and clean boots inside when I take them off. And that's mainly what I was looking for.

Good material quality and function
I bought these to replace a pair of cheap REI gaiters. I have mixed feelings but am overall happy with them.On the good side, the material seems durable, and resists burrs and stuff sticking to them (aside from any exposed velcro, that is). One thing that was not obvious to me from the pictures is that the top and bottom of the velcro strips have an extra tab that wraps over the top to really lock those areas in place securely - I really nice upgrade feature. The bottom strap with buckle is very excure - I might have to replace the strap at some point, but I doubt I will ever have to mess with the buckle at all. Having only hiked in them about 40 miles, I never had to worry about them coming loose while hiking, unlike the other pair I had.The only thing I do not like about them (and this is purely a form, rather than a function issue) is that they tend to balloon out around the ankle after a full day of hiking. They still (functionally) keep sand and other debris from finding its way into my boots, but it looks like I'm wearing bell bottoms. It's just a little too much fabric in the middle for me - probably due to it being one-size fits all and the need to fit larger legs/angles/boots. It's not worth taking any stars away though, these gaiters work the way they should.

great gaiters for the price
great gaiters for hiking in sand and loose rock. very durable and lightweight. they will get hot, but not unbearable. the fit is spot on and cover the ankle and mouth of the shoe sufficiently enough to prevent rock and debris from getting in. Will definitely buy again once these wear out. My only gripe is the non replaceable strap, but if it gets to the point of having to be replaced, well then it means that the entire gaiter need replacement. very good product IMHO.

Multiple
I recently purchased a pair of these on my wife's Amazon account for a 5 day, 4 night back-country hike at Wrangell - St. Elias National Park in Alaska. The gaiters were used over some 10 year old waterproof hiking boots on a route following paths cut by snow-melt fed streams that took us in and out of rocky scree, gravel, tundra grasses and 3 inches of fresh snow. I lost track of the number of low water stream crossings, but my feet stayed warm and dry thanks to the gaiters--can't say the same for my companions. Product was also highly effective at keeping debris out of my boots, but I will echo other posts that the top elastic was a bit tighter than I expected. I do see some wear on the instep strap, but other than that still in great shape post this initial hike. Performed better than expected on the water crossings--would go with a taller model if deeper water crossings are anticipated. All in all, very satisfied with my purchase!
