Rachio Smart Sprinkler Controller, 16 Zone 2nd Generation, Compatible with Alexa (Renewed)

Was eyeing the Rachio for some time, not wanting to spend the money, and even moreso concerned about spending the time to install. Well, aside from having to install an outlet in my irrigation box (my previous unit was hard wired), getting the Rachio installed was a cinch.The (smart)world of operating the sprinklers from afar is one I should have joined five years ago. The user experience is a cinch, and I no longer can be out of range when working on the system around the house. My old remotes (they would usually fail after a couple years) would not work at the edge of the house, where many of the sprinklers were. Obviously, as long as my phone has a connection, I'm good. Should have bought this sooner, absolutely love the system, and it is saving me/the planet water.

I really like me 2nd generation controller so much that I purchased this second one and they work very well in the APP together and separately. I would purchase a 3rd one if I had more yard. Someday when these die I will likely upgrade to the new generation but currently these ones suffice nicely and I did not want to pay the nearly $100 more for features I may not use.

I love this unit. Works perfect.

Received the controller today, plugged in the power adapter that was in the box, tried to connect the WiFi using the iPhone app. No luck, tried for at least 30 minutes. Started reading the on-line documents, it states that the power adapter must be 24vac, the one in the box is an 12Vdc unit. The documents states only the ac version works. Also the 12Vdc unit won't power the sprinkler heads which are 24v. So called Amazon, must return unit for refund. Last time I'll buy refurbished items. Thought I could save some money.
