I needed a plug timer for some appliances in my house and came across this item. I have never really bought into the "home automation" stuff like the WiFi lights, doorbells, or thermostats, but I thought I'd try this as it was cheap.They came in basic packaging, with a pretty simple instruction booklet. Took me about 2 minutes to set it up, and it worked perfectly. I was honestly surprised to find out I could control it remotely (from outside the house not using WiFi as long as the plug is within range of the WiFi). I am very happy with this device so far and I will likely order another if I need more controllable plugs. 5 stars!As a side note: I included two pictures of the app that controls the device. It's really straight forward and includes things like connecting to Google Home and automating things by setting them on timers or at intervals. Very simple and easy to use and has lots of features.

First off, it would have gotten 5 stars if the instruction manual wasn't complete rubbish, and you didn't need to register an account in the application for a server in China. With all of the identity theft going on, I don't like having accounts all over the place. I really wish these companies would hire people in the USA to write the instruction manual, so that there wouldn't be so many English errors, and translation problems.See pictures.Now for the product. This was just what I needed for the space I am using it in. I have grow lights and a small table top fan - the fan is to keep air circulating so mildew is kept at bay. Both are plugged into the same outlet, and previously I used a timer (not the smart kind, regular manual set) for the lights. Inevitably, whenever someone slept in the room (guest room) they would pull out the timer because the light would bother them. I wanted a way to control both fan/lights at once, and independently (I'm not growing seedlings year round, just in spring). Had slight trouble connecting to outlet to the app - they could not "find" each other - but I finally put my phone/app right next to the plugged in outlet and that worked. I could then turn outlets on/off via the app very easily, as well as set programs/timer. (Have not experimented with scenes yet.) Connecting with Echo was a little more challenging - at first I seemed to be going around in circles between enabling the Alexa skill and connecting to the outlet, and I'm still not sure what I did to make it work, but that only took 10 minutes or so, and now I can tell it to turn on/off just the fan, just the lights or both. (I named them "fan", "growlight", and then for both together "fanlight". I'd recommend this product. As far as I can tell it's the only one offering dual controls. Only wish that I didn't need to download a separate app - I already am using the WeMo products for other outlets.

We recently purchased a home and decided to put some lighting under the cabinets but unfortunately the outlets that were there were always on and not hooked up to a switch. After getting several pricey quotes from electricians we decided to look at less expensive alternatives. We decided to get some smart plugs that we could control without a physical switch. These filled that roll perfectly, we can now turn on/off our under cabinet lighting straight from our phones without paying outrageous prices for an electrician. After installing the app the setup took less than a minute. The app is laid out very nicely, click the outlet you wish to turn on/off and it turns on/off, doesn't get much easier than that! The app also has some advanced features for those who wish to do more than simple on/off functions. You can set up schedules for each outlet individually based on a time schedule daily or customize it for certain times or days during your week. You can also view energy consumption of the outlets which is a neat feature for those who are trying to conserve energy. I'll be buying a few more of these outlets around Christmas time for the house and Christmas tree lighting.

I ordered the 2 pack, one of the plugs works fine. The other one worked on and off, I had to keep resetting it every other week or so. Then two days back, it just stopped working. Cannot even reset it or manually turn the devices on/off from the plug. It is completely dead. I know the outlet I had it plugged in works coz that is how I’m using the device that was plugged in.I was considering getting the wall switch from the same Company, not now! If it has a 50% success rate I’m not willing to do the works of replacing a light switch only to have it not work in a couple of months.
