Spiciness means some may not like
Sensations Bangkok Streetmix Case, 8 units x 88 gThese are made by Walkers but are not crisps. They are instead a mix of four different snacks inspired by the food of Bangkok in Thailand. Each of the eight packets contains the four snacks - sweet chilli crackers, coconut flakes, creamy cashews and green snaps - mixed together. I don't know if the mix is even between the four as it seems there are more of some than others, or maybe that is just me imagining it.The best before date is end April and I got these in early Mar (so about two months). The bags aren't recyclable, and I'm waiting for the day Walkers do develop a recyclable crisp bag, and they are also harder to open than a crisp packet which means using scissors or a knife.Normally my kids love Walkers, but that is the crisps. These they have not liked so much. The ones they dislike the most are the chilli crackers which are spicy and so they leave those, which is fine by me as I like them (although I make sure to drink some water after). The rest they eat but the problem with mixed snacks is some snacks will be liked more than others (depends on people's preferences). If sold separately people get to pick and choose what they like first. So overall some will like all the snacks here and some won't.

Delicious but pricey
Sensations Bangkok Streetmix is not a million miles removed from Japanese rice cracker style products, if you've had those what you get is similar crackers but with the flavour modified towards Thai style with coconut and lime. The Chilli on the rice cakes is of medium heat but everything is moderated by the subtle lime and creamy coolness of the coconut flakes and cashews so I would say they are "sweet and aromatically spicy", not hot. Very tasty. My only gripe is the price; A typical supermarket bag of Japanese rice crackers goes for about £1 for 125g, this Walkers product at the moment is roughly £2.50 for 88 grams, that's a pretty hefty price hike but that said they were different enough to provoke "What are these?" comments from guests so if the price is not an issue they go down extremely well as nibbles. I happily stuffed a whole bag without feeling too guilty or full but that's about 500 calories, so watch out because they are definitely more-ish. I feel the price should be more in the region of £1.50 a bag and the taste is 4/5 for me. Not the most amazing thing I ever tasted but nevertheless tasty. A solid 4 star fresh idea and satisfying.

Spicy thai-inspired snacks with coconut
A new Bangkok inspired set of flavours in this Street Mix which means that you get a quite diverse hit of flavours in one packet. There are four distinct flavours: the crunchy sweet chilli crackers that do pack a medium spicy hit (beware if you don’t like spice!); the thai green snaps that are aromatic and citrusy; cashew nuts and coconut flakes. The creaminess and coolness of the cashews and coconut do balance out the stronger spicier flavours, but I wasn’t convinced that these work that well together … so much as they compete for which is more powerful. This type of snack would work quite well in a bowl as nibbles if you are having people around for drinks. The 8 packets arrived in a Sensations branded cardboard box with a perforated opening; easy to open and fully recyclable. Great! Not so great is that each of the 8 plastic packets the snacks are in are neither recycled nor recyclable. This, frankly, isn’t good enough. Please note the snacks are suitable for vegetarians, and don’t contain palm oil.

Very tasty and quite unusual
I shared these around the office and the response was mostly positive. The only people who didn't like it were those with a preference for very bland food, so I'd consider it an almost ubiquitous thumbs up if you have any tolerance for aromatic flavours and a little spice. The packs aren't especially large, but they're big enough to share as a snack between two or 3 people - it's definitely flavour over sheer quantity here. The rice crackers snap and crunch as they should - the sweet chili ones are especially moreish. Different textures are provided with the cashews (not a nut I'd automatically associate with thai cuisine) and coconut slivers. The cashews add a nice bit of fat to balance the carbs, and the coconut slivers are thin and dry enough that they aren't chewy. You do pay a premium for this quality, unfortunately. I feel like the value proposition would need to be a little better for me to offer a full recommendation for this pack, but these are among the best Walker's snacks I've had, judged purely on taste.

Unusual taste and texture combinations - questionable value for money
It’s a fairly mixed review that I’m going to give these Bangkok Streetmix snacks from Sensations. My colleagues at work have tried these with me and there were some real misgivings about the mixture of flavours. Some were very opposed to the inclusion of coconut, whereas others liked the lighter mix compared to something like Bombay mix. The general consensus was that they would make a nice occasional side bowl as opposed to something you’d want to gorge on, but that the lighter/softer overall consistency made them easier to eat. They do have a bit of spice to them but not massively so. Generally speaking they are an unconventional taste mix which raises an eyebrow and gets generally positive feedback. For a price of £19.26 (at time of review) that works out at around £2.40 per bag which I think is too much for bags of only 88g weight. I’m still prepared to give them 4 stars for the overall positive feedback and quirky taste and texture, but currently I would say they are not good value for money.
