Everything about Black Donkey has been first rate.
I am a long time customer of Farrers of Kendal, one of the country's oldest coffee roasters (founded in 1789). I have now gone over completely to Black Donkey Neapolitano. It is easily the best coffee I have ever tasted, red for mornings, to wake us up, and gold for dinner to put the day to bed. It is full of flavour, easy to use in the simple paper pods, and easy to clean-up the very minor mess when finished. I still buy some loose beans from Farrers, but largely out of sentiment, and grind them when I need a change. Black Donkey has completely seduced my wife. She has been suffering from cervical cancer and the unpleasant side-effects of chemo and radio therapies. One of her problems is that she needs to bost her immunity (because of the chemo) and doesn't like milk. However, she has taken to having a couple of Black Donkeys every day and is improving rapidly. Now I do not want to make any unproven claims but I think you coffee has undoubtedly helped. Finally, why do you keep asking for recommendations? I have responded positively after each purchase and do not supply misleading reports. We can only acquire Black Donkey on-line, otherwise I would seriously think of finding another supplier!T L Hewitt

Great Flavour - No Identification As To Whats Red And Whats Gold
Prompt delivery and good value for money. I tries both red and gold in my DeLonghi Micalite as soon as they arrived, both worked well with the ESE filter holder. Both had great tastes and different, I would say the red is more intense. Unfortunately there is no way of telling what coffee is in red or gold pouch, as no identification. Thats the only negative.

Great coffee. We really enjoy the taste of this authentic tasting Italian coffee.
Was having difficulties finding paper coffee pods for my De Longhi 2 in 1 coffee machine. Shops only sell the plastic pods now.Saw these coffee bags on line and thought I would give them a go.They are delicious. Really good Italian coffee and value for money.

One of the worst coffees I have ever tasted
Tired this coffee out on my coffee machine and it taste terrible. It’s just flat, no real flavour at all. Tired to return it and Amazon states it’s not eligible for return. I’m sure if I was in a restaurant or coffee house I could send it back.

Not the best coffee I’ve had
Nice flavour, but not strong at all. I’ve tried to reduce the water content and use 2 different pods in the attempt of a stronger double espresso with no luck, this just makes it taste worse. If you don’t necessarily like your coffee strong, you can give this a try, as the flavour is nice. My husband likes it, and it’s good value for money.

Nice easy espresso
Easy to use and a nice tasting espresso. The red is stronger and better suited to espresso. It is equally comparible to ground in my machine but may be a bit weak if you like very bitter syrupy coffee. I find the gold one too weak and frothy on top. Tastes more like nespresso pods. The difficulty is getting a double for cappucino/latte/flat whites if you like frothy coffee. You have to use two pods. The beauty is the ease of use, speed and lack of mess. Also the package arrived very quickly

2 out of 3....
I've bought a few batches of these over the last couple of years. I'd read that some reviewers complained that their machines struggled to push the water though the pods. I always thought this was down to people just having poor coffee machines.....and then I bought these and now I'm saying the same. This is the 4th batch of ese coffee pods I've bought from various sellers and these are the first where my machine just can't push the same quantity of water though . So I'm convinced it must be the quality of the pads. Taste is ok but only 1 in 3 actually delivers a decent drink. Shame...

Sehr leckerer Kaffee in zwei Sorten
