They do what they do.
These work great, helped me keep the temps and humidity controlled when I was painting in my shop. Battery life seems good as well as they are still working strong since the day I opened the package and have yet to replace the batteries.

They work well
The hardest part with setting these up was trying to get the battery compartment open. They were quite stiff. I purchased these to see what the actual temperatures were in different parts of the house. The bonus was that I got the humidity rating as well. I have not used the magnets on the back of these little units yet as the stand is quite efficient placing them where I need them. I had purchased 3 of them to start. They seem quite sturdy and not at all flimsy. I have one of them in a room where I keep tropical plants. I had been concerned that the plants weren't getting enough warmth even though I have a grow light in play. (And no, they are not marijuana plants even though they are legal in my state.) These little thermometers are great at monitoring the temps in the areas where they are placed and give you a range of the coldest to the warmest, so I know when to turn off the heater.

How did I Ever get along without it?!?
What a Great product -- it's so useful I'm buying two more for us, and some extras to give as gifts.I don't have any complaints or cons about it - it's even a convenient size. The only irritation is that the price has gone up $2.00 since I bought my initial device in January 2014.I've had my AcuRite for over two months now and am very pleased. I love that it does both temp & humidity, and that it gives you the 24 hour range (high and low) for each! We currently keep it in the family room, in a spot where we can glance at it as we walk by. One thing I've found especially interesting is that it shows how cold the house gets at night in Winter without the furnace on via the 24 hour low-temp reading. However, it's had quite a workout since I bought it:Our home has several...mini-climates: main living space is on the dry side, finished area of the basement (where we choose to have our bedroom) is damp/dank, and the built-in garage is on the wet side. In the past I've made several attempts to determine "what's the situation, how bad, & what can I do about it?" which involved borrowing multiple devices from various people. That didn't go so well - no way to calibrate the devices, among other things. But now......*This* little beauty has saved much time and hassle. I've been able to profile each area and have come up with appropriate solutions, such as getting a dehumidifier for the garage, which is taken into the finished area one day a week to run. I've decided to get two more AcuRites, the better to track the results of my changes to each problem area. Plan to get some to give as gifts, too.I understand that not that many people have homes with mini-climates, but it's a great example of how useful the AcuRite can be!Over the years I've had several temperature/humidity gauges, & this is the best one I've found (be aware I'm speaking of gauges in the $10-15 price range).I don't know what better recommendation I can give than "I'm buying more."

Works great and fairly accurate
I moved to northern California from Arizona, so I wanted to gauge how much indoor humidity was present, seeing as I have several guitars. I got this gauge because it looked fairly robust in the pictures. Well, I am using it and so far, the results are good as far as the humidity. It has registered between 37 and 51% since I began using it - which is well within tolerance for guitars.I like the large readout, which is very easy to see across the room. It also shows the range of both temperature and humidity in the last 24 hours. One point I would like to make is that the description didn't say that it takes a AA battery which is not included. It does say AAA, but that is incorrect - so if you order it make sure you have a fresh AA battery handy. It is a good product and worth buying at the price they are asking - around $10.
