Mixed Chicks Detangling Deep Conditioner - Softens, Moisturizes & Detangles Straight or Curly Hair

Okay, where to start. The very first thing I noticed when I got some of this conditioner out the bottle was how absolutely heavenly it smelled! I am currently 2 years into growing out a relaxer and I have kinky curly hair (lengthwise, it is just past tailbone). I am all over the "4" scale if you are into hair typing. When I put this in my hair, it went on really nicely, but the moment of truth came when I rinsed this out... my hair felt so soft and tangle free... and my hair is NEVER tangle free. To put it into perspective, it normally takes me 6 hours (sometimes more, sometimes less) to detangle my hair. With this my detangle session went down to just over 1 hour. Like, whoaaaaaaaaaa. I almost questioned if it was MY hair I was touching! It was that good. This has got to be hands down, the best deep conditioner I have ever tried. Its really pricey, but you really do get what you pay for.

Update 12-21-2017: continued use and my hair started to get really dry. Reason: Protein. If my hair is starved of protein, this will lay it out. Once my hair has had enough protein, it quickly becomes overload. Keeping this as part of the rotation. Just widening out the timeframe to maybe every couple months.Before 10-14-2017: My go-to is this product right now. The size makes it easier not to run out so fast. When my hair is extremely dry, this conditioner on wet hair adds unparalleled slip which so helps with detangling.

We love this product! I started purchasing it for our daughter as her hair is quite coarse and curly (we had been using the Mixed Chicks children's line of products but graduated her to the adult stuff around 4 years old). I have thick curly hair, so started using it on occasion and LOVED it. I was still using cheaper stuff on myself for the most part when I just decided to start using this conditioner exclusively on the whole family. We use it both as a cowash and as a regular conditioner. In both ways it leaves our hair soft, easy to comb (only with the conditioner in it and in the shower), and creates manageable hair afterwards. My only complaint is with the larger bottle itself. With the smaller containers the entire lid comes off and you are able to get every last drop of product out if there. This is much trickier with the large bottle. The large bottle lasts our family about three months (being used on five heads, two pretty generously the other three males so not as much hair thus not as much product needed). It lasts longer in the winter when we are not washing/cowashing as often.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!!!! I looked everywhere to choose the best product that wasn't too expensive but had excellent results and this product exceeds my expectations! When I read that it makes your hair easy to comb through when you immediately put it on your hair I had to give it a try. And it is absolutely TRUE! Easy to comb through (I use denman brush 5 rows). The smell is amazing and makes your hair feel ultra soft. I am a year and a half from my big chop.....I was nearly bald.Here's what I do for my hair routine that makes your hair look AMAZING:Part hair into 4 sections, securing each with jumbo clipsOn 1 section start by applying your shampoo (I use up whatever I have on hand which was Mizani) don't rinse it out.Then apply a decent amount of your conditioner (I used a product called It's Yours Hair Co Tea Tress Conditioner with Peppermint that my mother gave me cannot not find it on amazon though so it must be new) put it on top of the shampoo so that your hair is NOT left striped and feeling harsh from rinsing out shampoo. Re-clip each section when done so it doesn't get in the way when working with other sections of hair.Do this to all sections and do not rinse out anything until all sections are done.Once on your last section do not rinse out...start with the first one you began with and rinse out the shampoo and conditioner. You are only rinsing out one section so that the conditioner can stay in a bit longer in each section.Apply only a dime size to a quarter size of Mixed Chicks, a little bit truly goes a LONG way. Depending on how much hair you have I have to part the section I'm working with into 2 sections so I can use my Denman brush to comb through it all. Once done Re-clip and continue to next section, repeating all.After all sections are done DO NOT RINSE OUT Mixed Chicks. Go around again, starting with the first section and rinse it out then apply Eco Styler Gel (Aragon Oil or Olive Oil) or whatever you like to use as your wash n go. Make sure the section your working on is completely soaked so that gel can go on and easily get combed through with your Denman brush. Combing the section after applying the gel with really DEFINE YOUR CURLS. You might even need to wet it again while applying the gel and combing if your hair really eats up water like mine does. By the way all of this is in the shower since I need to continually rewet my hair.Repeat with all sections and you're done with the shower.Pat your hair all over with a t-shirt lightly, yes gel will get on this shirt... looks like a big mess. Follow up with using your diffuser on your blow dryer and if your have the flat attachment (don't know what its called) use it to get the roots while pulling on your hair so that your hair does not shrink up like a mushroom. It will if you do not blow dry your hair at all. I have the FHI Dryer which comes with all 3 attachments. When your done switch back to the diffuser and blast your hair with cool air...its okay if its a little damp in the end, let it air dry.Spray on a leave in conditioner which you should do every morning. You can just use water in a spray bottle or water with a little of your favorite oil/leave in conditioner mixed in. And your done!Hope you buy this product, you will not be disappointed! And remember a little goes a long way so if you wash your hair once a week it would last a pretty long time until having to buy another jar so its worth the cost!

I am also biracial, half black and half hispanic, with very kinky and curly hair and I've tried many hair products especially hair products for black women but nothing seemed to work. Then my mom recommended this product and I thought it was a bit too pricey to get at first but now after ordering it and using it my hair, it made my curls feel so much softer and it laid them down alot!! I not only use this as deep conditioner when I wash my hair but as well as a leave-in conditioner on the go.

Made my hair softer and more manageable with less breakage. I have fine hair that was soft and shiney. I started medications and my hair became like straw (very fine and easily broken). The deep conditioner isn't heavy or oily. I use it after regular conditioner. I like it better than Shea moisture, dove intense, redkin allsoft, carols daughter scalp health line, and wen. ( all good products but their "deep" products did not conquer the nest of dry brush that my hair had become)Big thanks to a nurse with great curls who was kind enough to help a stringy haired stranger.

This product immediately makes my natural hair soft, silky and easy to detangle. I have used this for a year now and its the best tool I have in my hair kit.

I have been using and ordering this product for 2 years now. No plans to change, cos its great.

So it does help a ton with my tangles which is AWESOME!!! But I don't see it doing anything for my hair in terms of moisture. It still feels pretty dry to me after using it.

For the record my hair is very dry and frizzy, thus deep conditioning is a godsend, I haven't seen my hair so hydrated and beautiful before, I am in love.
