Wonder Gears sets are composed of several types of components. The component types include stable gears, structure blocks, motorized gears, and aesthetic pieces. The gears pieces work together to create elaborate spiraling patterns and enable children to experiment with mobile design and locomotion. The structure blocks are the basis for the gear blocks, giving the gears a place to fasten onto. And the aesthetic pieces are like the cherry on top of a Sunday, exploring the visually pleasing aspects of design, and helping to build on the creative minds of children. Kids can create anything from motorized tops to arm waving robots; the possibilities are endless. Aside from the sheer conceptual benefits of Wonder Gears stands the quality of the toy's construction. The toy sets are designed for all ages, so the gears are both durable and safe. The rounded edges of the pieces ensure that no child gets hurt playing with a piece, and the durable materials of the pieces ensure that that no piece gets hurt playing with a child. Additionally, Wonder Gears toy sets are intuitive and easy-to-use. Pieces just snap together, allowing the creative process of any child to proceed unhindered. These values of depth of education, quality of materials, and ease of use meld together to help any child succeed in the 21st century.

Good idea but let down by quality.
This is a good toy for encouraging creativity but let down by poor quality plastic.. on the first day of careful use by my husband with our grandsons several small pieces broke and were no longer usable.

This is a brilliant toy but the quality of the plastic used isn't the best at all, this product could be so much better.

Someone please cast this in light aluminium to make it more durable.
Great idea but made with very cheap plastic. Very easy to break and also quite difficult to prise apart to rebuild (adult using it). On the plus side I am looking forward to building it with my grandchildren.

Thin plastic
Plastic not really durable enough for the job - breaks if not very carefully treated which is difficult when trying to take spacers out of plates

Construction set
Grandsons enjoyed it but would have been helpful to have instructions on how to build everything featured

Not as easy as you think
Made with cheap plastic. Quite flimsy for a 3 year old to build things with and it’s not as easy to build with (even for an adult). Good concept though.

Four Stars
Very intriguing, and educational, for a young mechanical mind.

Great Toy, could be even greater with some adjustments
First of all, my 3.5 year old son and I loved Wonder Gears. It really is educational, boosts creativity, intriguing and fun. Gets him thinking and doing and redoing. However, I have to take lots of care with my younger baby, since there are small parts that are a choking hazard, and 3-4 year olds still aren't the best at cleaning up and keeping things together. But I still think its worth it since it gets my son away from the TV and doing something more interesting. My only two issues with the product (which are the reason why I left out the fifth star) are:1) The red connectors sometimes demand some force to fit into the gears and may break easily. The parts are not easy to assemble and seem a bit light and flimsy. It makes me think that an upgrade in the type and firmness of the plastic might be a huge improvement.2) The stickers are beautiful but if you put them on the gears, it covers up the little holes and prevents that piece from being used in a different arrangement and the fun part is taking it apart and making something different. So I haven't let my son use the stickers. It would be interesting to think of a solution for that.If these adjustments where made, making the toy last longer, I would even pay more for this toy.

Not a good item. Not sturdy
Not a good item. Not sturdy, falls apart easily and putting the prongs into the gears is very difficult. If these were made of stronger material they would be better. I had a hard time putting them together, and then they would not stay together. Do not recommend.

Fun, but not easy.
So far, only 2 of our grandchildren have had a chance to play with it. They are girls, 4 and 7. The 4-year-old made a car this evening and put the 6 bears we have in it. She had the gears on both sides of the car by using both motors that we have, but it wasn't self-propelling or anything. She enjoyed it, and her 7 year old sister made a house for her with chairs for the bears in it. So...they're not using it like it's meant to be used, but they're having fun. My husband tried earlier to build the car pictured on the insert, but couldn't figure it out. So it's not easy. The 7-year-old made a hand-operated block of gears that was really neat. Both of the girls seems drawn to play with Gears. I can't wait for some of my other grandchildren to try it.

Our grandkids love this, and so do my husband and I
Our grandkids love this, and so do my husband and I. The gears provide excellent opportunities for creativity and problem-solving. We have 2 sets and sometimes use both motors on one large structure. So much fun and quite educational!

Fun for grandson and grandad
My six-year-old grandson loves playing with this set. I bought two so he could make more elaborate structures as he got older. He is learning principles of machinery, and it provides special bonding time for him and his engineer grandfather.

Engage your children while they learn
My three nieces, ages 7, 15, and 27, were equally enthralled with the Gears kit. They built a variety of models and were excited at how easily they could manipulate the pieces. I highly recommend this engaging and learning toy.

Not at all as pictured
I can't even give this as a donation let alone as a gift for my 5 year old grandchildren.* The box was shipped in an ENVELOPE and was crushed.* Even though advertised as new, the box had been opened* the entire box is written in Chinese. the only thing in English is "Made in China"* there were NO INSTRUCTIONS* the pieces were flimsy and hard to put togetherthis doesn't even deserve 1 star and I'm very unhappy. plus now I have to go shopping to find gifts for the grands

and it was amazing experience!
I ordered two boxes of wondergears for my 5 year old son, and it was amazing experience!! Finally I found a educational toy for my child... it's very hard to find a good toy those days. We have fun last weekend with the wondergears: we build letters and geometrical shapes!! I definitely will recommend it!!

Not sturdy
I was really excited to get these for my boys for Christmas. As kids, they were excited to see how the gears went together and what could be made with them. The product is a good idea, but it is really poorly made. I find little pieces breaking off all. the. time! Very frustrating. The plastic is brittle and breaks off easily and this momma is not impressed. Since I purchased it for Christmas, it's way past the time for me to return the items. I suggest researching similar items from different companies. My Sister-in-law got some similar to these but way better quality. I found myself a little jealous.

The children were able to use this on their own
Two of my grandchildren loved creating things with this set. One is a7year old girl and the other is a 5 year old boy. They helped each other create a playground .

Nice Building Gears
My granddaughter play with these a lot. My only regret is that I didn't purchase them sooner. Perfect for little growing minds.

Hours of fun!
Bought for grandsons who love duplo/legos. My husband and our 4.5 year old were a bit daunted when the opened the box. After some discussion they started creating. My grandson was so excited to show me what they built. They built several different things and had a GREAT time!

Good toy
Very good product for the price...very happy with how it works...lots of different ways to combine gears...my daughter had a good time building with themCons: pieces (both bricks and gears) are a bit flimsy and don't connect with the same tightness like legos, for example
