Homebrewers, please read this one!
First off, let me say that if you are intending to use this for general cooking that does not require boiling, you should be fine. The one time I used this cooker, it seemed to perform well enough for what would be required for any non-boiling cooking. However, I intended to use this for homebrewing which requires boiling several gallons of water for an hour or so. For this specific purpose, this product does not perform well. When I talked to the friendly gentleman at Bayou Classic, he informed me that this product is not intended for that type of heat output and recommended I try the SP-10 High Pressure Cooker model or the SP1 Jet Cooker model (both with 20psi regulators). I explained the situation to the folks at Amazon and they issued a refund within 24 hours of receiving the burner that I shipped back. I wanted to get a burner that I could use for some occasional camping/tailgating cooking and the Bayou Classic tech said the SP-10 is a little more adjustable than the SP1. I purchased the SP-10 and immediately upon lighting could tell that this would do the job for homebrewing. In 22 minutes, I was able to bring 4 gallons of cold tap water to a boil!In regards to some other reviews written about these burners, they come painted black and the paint burns off the metal bars that hold the pot located above the flame. No big deal in my opinion. Light the burner, turn the heat up and let it sit for about 20-25 minutes before you use it for cooking. I went ahead and boiled water during the paint burn off so the bottom of the pot would displace the heat and burn more of the paint off (rather than just what sat right above the flame). It has an unpleasant odor but I'm only mentioning this because some people's negative reviews about the paint. I've seen grills do the same thing and don't think it's that big of a deal. I don't care what the burner looks like due to some paint being burned off, I care that it produces the heat I need!

Excellent Burner When used Appropriately
The Bayou Classic DB250 Double Burner High-Pressure Cooker with Extension Legs works as advertised. Initially I was hesitant in purchasing the burner due to the bad feedbacks regarding the extension legs. Looking at the pictures, one would figure that on a flat surface with the extension legs installed the burner would be sitting on the edges due to both ends of the extension having an angular cut. The angular cut on the leg extension in my opinion is a manufacturer defect. I understand why the extension legs are angled where they attach near the burner but not where the legs must make contact with the ground. I will remedied the problem by sanding the bottom edges of the extension so that the legs meet flush with the ground--creating a better footing.Although the extensions causes the burner to sit on edge, I had no problem putting two 32 quart steel pots (8 gallons each) with water and allowing it to cook for over an hour. I had the burner sitting on a flat wooden board on the ground; I did some minor to moderate pushing, gyrating/wobbling around with the burner and there was never a hint of the burner and pots turning over. I believe if the leg extension were placed on the ground without a firm support like a board, sitting on concrete, wood etc the burner would tip over. To me, the burner was well worth the investment, but you need to beware of the burner's placement to avoid possible tipping over; I see this happening if the burner with extensions is place directly on dirt or grassed grounding. Overall the burner serves my purpose as an outdoor cooker and fryer with a minor nuisance of the extension legs.

Makes canning more enjoyable
I have a huge garden and can a lot of my produce. I got tired of using the electric range and having the kitchen heat up to almost unbearable temps so I got this so I can can outside under the trees. Now when I pressure can or hot bath produce I can sit and relax and enjoy the day instead of cooking along with the foods. I can get about ten batches done on a single cylinder so it seems pretty efficient too.

Great Alternative to Kitchen Cooking a Lobster Boil
We do a clam boil every year for 40+ people at our VA BEACH family reunion. Finally decided to take the cooking outdoors after years of juggling several smaller pots on the kitchen stove. What a difference! The unit assembled without any difficulty and we did not have any issues as other reviewers have mentioned with balance. Initially we purchased 2 ten gallon steel drums to use but they rusted as soon as we added water and gratefully accepted the loan of 2 stainless 6 gallon pots from the fish market at the last minute. Water boiled very quickly, and we were serving 30 minutes after filling the pots with layers of seaweed, potatoes, steamers and lobster. The corn had to be cooked in the kitchen due to the smaller pots. We used med. size red potatoes, and they were not cooked enough. Next time we will use smaller potatoes, add them first and cook them for 30 minutes before adding the seafood. After comparing prices and specs, we are very glad we purchased this burner.

Bayou Double Burner
This double burner cooker is functional enough and good value. I use it for homebrewing. The burners produce a strong flame due to high pressure propane. The build of the unit could have been sturdier-It is a bit delicate. My other double burner is a Camp Chef which costs almost twice as much, but has low pressure burners which are great for cooking. They are not as suited as the Bayou burnes for homebrewing.

Totally waste of money
We purchased this, thinking it has acceptable STARS level and offered by AMAZON. This was for my daughter's birthday party during 4th July long week end. We have some 28 guests in the park, and it was a total fiasco. The burner would not generate enough flame to cook anything....Total useless...another chinese product with issue...I am unable to understand as why AMAZON even offers such garbage....

outdoor cooker's best friend!!
This double burner is fairly easy to setup in under 10 minutes or so. The legs are unstable as other customers reviewed. The paint used to paint this burner isn't heat or flame proof. It burned up and caught fire when i did a test light.
