Antique Improver (8 Fl Oz)

I purchased an old spinning wheel that was in pretty good condition, though the wood was dry and cracked. I was pretty sure it would have only been treated with turpentine and oil in the past so wanted to find something similar to hydrate the wood, and protect it, without adding a 'modern' finish onto it. I got this product on the recommendation of a few antique restorers. I thought perhaps the reviews I read were exaggerating, but they were not.I had to sand quite a few areas due to splintering and was distressed to see how different the wood looked. However, after even one coat of Antique Improver not only did the places I'd had to sand exactly match the rest, but it took on a bright shine. I did a second coat the next day and it looked even better. I'm already recommending this product to others who have antique wheels in their possession. I'm including a photo of the tensioner before it was oiled so you can see how different it looks compared to the upright in the next photo. Truly stunning results! The cracks appear smaller (that may just be because of the more even finish on the wood), and when you touch it it does not feel oily or sticky at all.I'll be ordering more to use on all my antique wooden furniture and tools.

This product works really well on improving the look of antiques. Sometimes after cleaning an antique item the dust remains - have found that this product gets rid of the dust and improves the look of the item.

Love this stuff! It's pricey, but a little goes a long way.Actually it's only about $5 more than getting from Kramer and you'd have to pay shipping as well, so I'd say it's a good deal.
