Helps a ton for my light sleeper daughter. Does need to be tweaked for future designs.
Works great for my daughter, we realized we used to have a standing high powered fan to help her as white noise, then we got rid of it and struggled. We introduced this and works great. Wish the noise adjustment controls were less loose as it would help keep it in the same setting. The unit does get warm using it overnight and for some a little too warm so be cautious of using it on anything but a wooden or plastic night stand or table. I'm not sure if I hear a difference in the noise turning the yellow light portion, but essentially the middle portion you are opening or closing the small holes to muffle or open up the fan noise. The light is a very soft yellow light and does not affect my daughter's sleep. It's also not in direct view from where she sleeps as it is blocked by the pillows creating a simple ambience.Update: it died on me. Sounds like the motor came to a slow halt. I'm not sure if this is seized or that dust has built up prevented it from spinning. Will try to return first if not then try to fix it myself

Would be nice if sound didn't stop working
The functionality of this is nice. The sound is nice too--it is a real whirring sound rather than an artificial speaker making sound. However, after six months of use, the sound will not work anymore and I don't think I can send it back now or get a refund.

Doesn’t last long
This worked great at first & we thought it was the perfect sound machine!We bought this for our 2 year old daughter. With a newborn & late night feedings, better safe than sorry!I bought this in December & it is now April & it is no longer working. The light still works but you have to bang it a couple of times for the sound to kick on. Very disappointed & in search for another sound machine now!

Two broken in 6 months
This is the second one of these we have bought in the last 6 months. We use them for white noise in our son’s bedroom. The fan in the first one just stopped working after 4 months, and we hoped it was a fluke and bought the same product again. The fan in the new one just stopped working, and it’s only been two months this time. Hadn’t been dropped or handled roughly. Won’t be buying again.

The only reason this is getting a 4/5 is bc of the HORRIBLE smell it omitted the first 3-4 times i Used it!! The first time was after running it almost 2 hours at nap, and when i came in it was such a strong chemical smell that my baby had been breathing in, it did slowly go away and now it’s no problem! Very neat idea! Other than smell i like this sound machine/night light and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg!

Fell asleep easily
I was skeptical as this was recommended by a friend but it works like a charm. The noise machine is perfect and light weight that I believe I could take it on a trip and feel like I’m right at home.
