Easy to use, plants grow well - bought another for my daughter, and my neighbor bought one
I'm pretty bad about watering plants, and I hate bugs. So I'd almost given up on growing herbs. But this is so easy to use, it's a pleasure. The unit is well made, easy to use, and has already paid for itself in herbs I didn't have to buy at the store (in just over 2 months). I'm growing mostly basil in mine, because I use a lot and can never find Holy basil and rarely find Thai basil at the store. I've already harvested enough to justify the cost of the unit, seeds, and the extra grow food I've purchased. After 3 month, have harvested so much I've lost track - Basil Salads, Pestos, and Thai Basil Chicken - all from one compact unit! I've also got thyme in mine, but that's a slow grower, so it's taking it's time, but doing well. The only issue is that sometimes the light timer gets confused. Mine has occasionally turned on too early and gotten off track. But it's easy to just turn it off and back on once to get it reset, and then it works again for weeks. Also, the tiny window to check for water level gets hard to read once there are roots all over the place, but that may be my problem because I've got it in a sunny window, so there's a lot of background light. I love the adjustability of the light height, so I can let my plants grow fairly tall, or keep them harvested at a shorter height.I bought a second unit for my daughter after she liked it on her visit, and she's loving hers as well. She's fairly picky about things looking nice, and she likes the unit very much, so it must appeal to younger adults as well as us old-timers.My neighbor saw it and purchased one as well (I'm a bit miffed that hers was half the price of mine for the same unit - wish I had waited for tha sale). She's growing Romaine in hers, and so far, it's going great. She's only using half of the grow slots to allow for larger plants. It's nice that there are plugs to close off the spots not being used. I have every slot in mine planted, but that makes it rather crowded.I'm hoping to purchase another unit in the future to save time and money getting herbs at the grocery store.

Great for a Busy Person!
Very easy to use! The design is simple and straight forward. My plants have been growing like crazy! They started to sprout within a few days (lettuce). I have a variety of plants, but after researching a bit more I learned tomatoes don’t grow well with others so a bit of a miss for me but that’s okay! This product works very well. I planted the ones seen in the picture 2 weeks ago and the water level has barely went down. I haven’t used the plant food given yet since it said to wait until after you refill your water. Definitely a great product for someone who is busy most times. In my free time I just admire them, check the water and make sure the light stays on as much as possible since I planted all full sun plants.

Nice upgrade unit!!
Really nice unit, holds a lot of water, pump is very quiet, love the little plant signs that you write on so you know what you planted, instructions are easy to follow, it's a nice size size, not tiny like the areogarden I had before, it comes with plastic plugs to put in the pod holes that aren't being used, very pleased!!

Affordable HydroGarden Setup!
The media could not be loaded. When I wanted to get into hydroponics I thought I would need to hold off on getting a system. The other brands similar models were around $300 and up at the time. I see a lot of other amazon brands creating their own affordable versions but I have been using this one for 5 months now and I love it! I see they've created a step up model that I'm interested in, but this one has been simple and effective for me.The kit came with essentially everything you need to start right away besides your seeds of choice. They make pre-seeded pods from a bunch of brands to purchase. I purchased Aerogarden's herb mix seeds and set it up. Easy and was up and running with seeds planted in minutes. The water pump is silent and adjustable lighting is helpful, kind of wish it was a little taller though! I made sure to move the leaves from touching the top as the lights can burn the leaves if too close of course. The results were kind of astonishing. I had a pretty big herb garden in about 2 months! It grew so crazy I started giving some of the herbs and their trimmings in water to friends and family and they now have been growing their own! I've started cherry tomatoes from botanical interests in the seed pods it comes with and they're doing great!

Fun and easy
I ordered this system on Jun 29, and in a month I had lettuce for salad and sandwiches for myself!Very simple setup. I've cleaned and completely changed the water twice, and I check more often for overgrowth of roots. I just trim them and make sure they don't grow into the water pump.My only complaint, and why I deducted a star, is that the only way to set the light timer is by turning the unit or lights on at the time you want the timer to start. Which means if you want the lights on at 8:30 AM then you have to be there at 8:30 AM to power the unit up/turn the lights on. It'll then stay on whatever schedule you've chosen--16- or 22-hour--until the power or lights are turned off.I've also found that if I turn the lights off using the control, the water pump goes off as well and I have to turn that back on too. The first time it happened, the pump wasn't running for about a day before I noticed. That may just be my unit, tho.The whole light and water pump operation is just a little too annoying for the price, but like I said, once you've got it running on the schedule you want, you won't have to bother with it until you need to unplug and clean the unit as you should. And then for the price, it works amazingly well. I've really enjoyed having fresh lettuce...It's 100 times better than from the store.P.S. Don't make my mistake and grow cherry tomatoes with the lettuce. My 2nd batch of lettuce is bolting to reach the light that now has to be kept at max height in order to accommodate the tomato plants! I need to buy a separate unit.
