This protective period panty has a water-resistant lining from the gusset all the way to the waistline to prevent any unexpected leakage. Really a god-sent for menstrual period, post-partum bleeding or for ladies with incontinence issue, no more mess on mattress or embarrassing stains on pants. Machine washable.

They work, but...
These worked out exactly as I figured they would. Here are some thoughts, based on some of the reviews and questions I've read:* THEY ARE NOT ABSORBENT AND DO NOT TAKE THE PLACE OF A PAD OR TAMPON: I have a very heavy flow and often leak through my tampon. I usually wear a pad as backup, but I hate the bulky 'diaper' feeling of pads. So with these, I feel like I'm wearing regular underwear and I don't have to worry about stains going thru to my pants if I do leak. However, when you do leak, you can feel the wetness right against you. These don't wick away the wetness or anything like that - in fact, if you do leak, you'll want to take them right off and put a dry pair on. (I've been carrying extras on my really heavy days)* YOU CAN HEAR THE PLASTIC: they have plastic inside (between the layer that touches you and the outside layer) and you CAN hear it when you walk. It's not very loud, but I can hear it - like a faint rustling noise. You can't hear it at all if you're wearing shorts or pants, but I wouldn't advise wearing these underwear alone (like with a skirt) - you'll hear the plastic!* NO DRYER: speaking of the plastic, I accidentally threw them in the dryer and the plastic part inside shrank up, but not the cloth/underwear part, so now they are 'gathered' in the crotch area. Oops!* THEY'RE HOT: and again with the plastic issues, they do retain heat. It's slight during the day (it's winter though!), but at night, I've woken up with a really sweaty bum/crotch a few times - yuck.* SIZING: these run true to size. Reviews said they run small, but that was not my experience. I'm 5'7", 150 lbs and I usually wear a 7 in the hipster style of Hanes/Fruit of the Loom. I ordered an XL in these and these mesh ones are way too big. They fit like a size 9/10. I should have gotten the L. (However, I ordered a L in the Jacquard version of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GPIZL90/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and they were too small. I don't know if those ran small or these ran big - I should have just stuck with ordering different sizes of the same kind instead of trying both out. Now I have a too-big pair and a too small pair. Totally frustrating.Overall, I did like them and besides being too tight, they do work. It's so nice to walk around and sleep at night without wearing a pad. However, I can't see me wanting to wear these in the summer (my bum's going to melt!), plus I'd really like something that wicks moisture away. So in the end, I wouldn't have spent the $ to buy these-I would have tried out Thinx or something similar. Which is what I'm going to do now...

Life Saver
These allow me to actually leave the house without worrying about leaks. I get extremely and I mean extremely heavy periods. TMI, I overflow a menstrual cup between 30 minutes and maybe 3 hours max. I'm 30 and I literally had to buy depends to sleep because even getting up multiple times I woke up to a murder scene. The doctor didn't help me when I asked about what to do so I did some researching on my own and found these. These are much more affordable than others and they work. I use overnight maxi pads along with these and can sit on the couch without worrying about making a mess. These seriously are a life saver.

Great size range for larger bodies, protection where it's needed
I have heavy periods (thanks endometriosis and PCOS) and I am in a larger size range than places like Thinx cater toward. I love this product. They are comfortable to wear and have held up to repeated wash/dry cycle. One of my problems with Thinx (other than them not offering a good plus size range) is that the waterproof area that prevents leakage doesn't extend up in the hind end. TMI time, during shark week my flo can be channeled up my bum and out the top of my crack. It's not cool, but lets face it period havers, this happens. These underwear have waterproof coverage all the way up to the waist in the back. It feels a little funny if I have to fart, like the underwear balloons out because waterproof = not breathable but it has protected my pants. And like I've been saying to people, it's a good period if I don't ruin my clothes to overflow or leakage.I also like them for when I'm doing activities that strain my 'has had two kids' bladder control. I feel a bit more confident knowing I'm not going to leak urine. Some others have commented on the sound. I don't feel it's noticeable once I'm wearing the rest of my clothes.

...wholeheartedly recommend them for seniors...
I bought my first package of 4 black panties 10/18/2017. They changed my life! First of all, they held urine and kept my bed dry. I was able to remove the uncomfortable pad I had been sleeping on. Secondly, they have caught very unexpected diarrhea a couple of times too. They wash well and have not shown wear at all. I now have a dozen of them. Some of them are a bit tight when first put on. But, over a day's time they do adjust to fit perfectly. I would wholeheartedly recommend them for seniors like myself.

Do their job perfectly!
They aren't the most flattering pair of underwear ever (but that's not the purpose), but they do their job! I was afraid they'd be uncomfortable, ride up, etc. but they don't. They stay in place no matter what I'm doing. I wore them at night (along with tampon/pad) "just in case," as well as during the day (if I expected a possible leak or if I was afraid it would start). One night I had a major leak--blood everywhere when I woke up. But it was all contained inside the underwear. There were no stains, leaks, etc. on the outside of the underwear (so no one would have ever known) or on the bed. I would definitely buy them again.

Seems to do the job
I bought these for my daughter who has learning difficulties to try and minimise issues during her time of the month. She is in the chubby side and these fit her really nicely and look comfortable and secure (for someone slim, they might be too much on the Bridget Jones side of things but for my daughter it was great to find something that fitted over her tummy rather than under it!). The gusset on one pair was faulty- it wasn't sewn into the seam correctly which was disappointing for the price.

Don't work
Just purchase thinkx at least they work! These leak, they don't protect, I have a heavy flow and use a cup and reusable pads for overnight flow just in case and had these as extra protection to give me piece of mind when going to bed, unfortunately my cup filled spilled over filled my pad and whoopsie the pants let it leak throughAbsolutely gutted so I went ahead and spent a good £90 on some thinkx pants that way I know I have my femmycycle my reusable pads and then my thinkx to protect on nightimes now and I seriously haven't looked back! Finally I don't need to worrythinkx absorb the flow girls I'm amazed they work like they said now I tell everyone to go buy thinkx!!

They are very comfortable and makes you feel like you are wearing nothing on. Its soft light and my bum feels great. I would say it is a good quality of period pants. I feel relaxed and it calm.

Why now, just as I hit menopause do I find this product!? I almost want to have a daughter, just so I can pass this marvellous invention on to her. All those years of blood stained sheets, but never again with this.
