The Stocking Donner is a specialized sock aid designed for individuals with small to medium calves (less than 16 inches in circumference). It features a sturdy steel frame that holds compression stockings, allowing users to effortlessly put them on from a seated or standing position. Works great
Does the job! A little time to adjust to how it works but works well on compression socks as well as regular.

Great purchase - highly recommended
I had resisted getting one of these devices for years, thinking they looked too awkward and unwieldy for my taste. Also, considerations of traveling with limited space in suitcases made this option appear undesirable. After breaking two plastic sock aids in less than two months - the last one snapped in half while putting a mild compression sock on it - I gave in and bought this device. After a week of using it, I am 100% sold on its value! This thing is well built, durable and easy to use. It honestly isn't that cumbersome to store, and for traveling it won't be a problem to fit this into a suitcase and pack around and inside it.You may need to do some experimentation to figure out how it works best for you. In my case, with some severe mobility issues, I found that the instructions to put the sock's heel at the top of the center semicircle just didn't work for me. I pull my sock clear through, then push down the toe just a bit to create a small pocket. Then I hold down the frame with one foot to keep it stable (back and hip pain prevents me from holding the handles for this step) while inserting the other foot into the sock. Easy peasy!

This product is only useful if the person who NEEDS it has a helper -- too difficult to use alone
The whole idea here is "support stockings are difficult to put on -- so get a tool to help." Except using THIS tool is more difficult than putting on the support stockings in the first place! We purchased this mostly for my wife's benefit, but I sometimes wear support stockings, too, and I was happy to spend a few bucks -- hoping that using it would make putting on the stockings easier (and have a side benefit: fewer broken fingernails . . . one of the support-stocking hazards).NO SUCH LUCK in making donning the stocking easier, for the following reasons:-- It's extremely difficult to stretch a support stocking over the frame; can't speak for what it's like with those white things they give you at the hospital, but it's really a challenge to stretch a normal support stocking (I have them in about four different levels of elasticity and they all were difficult to get on the frame).--One needs to have the foot of the stocking at just the right spot or it will go on your foot incorrectly, and even with practice it's tough to get the foot positioned correctly.--Once it's on the frame, one almost needs to climb on a ladder to get one's foot high enough to fit into the stocking on the frame. In short, the people who MOST need help putting on support stockings won't benefit from this "tool" unless they have a keeper/helper, because the TOOL is difficult to use.Because I have missed the "return window," we will keep this thing and I might go back to using it on occasion, but my wife will NEVER use it.Morals of the story -- when Amazon tells you something is a "frequently returned item," run from it! And don't miss the return window -- apparently it's 30 days.

Good
Now if they could only invent one to take compression socks off would be great.

It works, but need to read review to see pros and cons.
I have worn support socks for 30+ years. Initially, I wore over the calf socks because a couldn't stand socks that ended up around my ankles all the time. As I got a little older, I found that support socks would probably be better for me, so I switched to them. They are somewhat troublesome to put on, but I have a pretty good process that works well. My wife, however, has had varicose vein surgery on both legs over the years and occasionally needs to wear the support hose. It is almost impossible for her to get them on and difficult for me to put them on for her.I found that my procedure for putting them on was still more efficient than using this unit. I could see the benefit, though and as I get older, this may help as my dexterity may diminish. I find that you really have to be aware that used as recommended, the fit on your feet is extremely tight. You have to adjust how high you bring the heel area up. I think with some practice they will work fine. As I have to help my wife put her's on, I can control the foot fit, but it works fantastically in actually pulling the sock up around the heel and up the leg. Please take the #3 rating with a grain of salt. It is a 10 in the aspect of actually finishing the installation from the ankle up but is problematic in the actual foot fit. If you are using it yourself, you will just have to practice how far you allow your foot to initially go in.

Confused
I wish this product had a video. I bought it for my husband to use with his compression socks. Both I and his caregiver have tried dozens of times to use it, but it just doesn't work well. First, it takes all my strength to get his sock on the donner. One of the reasons I bought it was because neither he nor I have the strength to pull on his socks without an aid, but this donner takes almost as much strength as putting the socks on without it. And, once the sock is in place, my husband can't reach the handles to pull it up and it's awkward for me to pull it up standing in front of him. I've tried using it myself and even when my foot goes in the sock, it never goes all the way down in the sock. I pull the sock up to my knee but there's still a couple of inches hanging off the toe. Our caregiver is younger and stronger and she struggles to get the sock on the donner and never gets his foot all the way to the toes. I guess I'll have to return it, but none of the other donner products seem to be any better. So frustrated.

Great Device
It took 3 socks for me to figure this out. Just slide the sock until the heel is showing. Hold on to the sock at the bottom of the device, put your foot in and the sock slides right on. It is a boon for my husband who was not good at putting these socks on my feet. You do have to hold on to the sock while you are sliding or the sock will come off too fast. I hold on to it with my picker upper since I can't bend over.

Works really well
My husband used it for the first time this morning, and it really works. As some reviewers say, there is a bit of fiddling the first few times you put the stockings on the frame, but this comes quickly. It really does put the sock on smoothly and thoroughly with a minimum of effort in just a few minutes. If someone is quite disabled, the stretching needed to mount the sock might be demanding and might require help. But trying to put on high compression socks without a device like this is time-consuming and demanding. This is a highly recommended alternative.
