After cooling it completely in the cold water. (It is done when the material turns solid white. Also, it's hard, you can take it and put it in place), it snaps right back in place. I even can eat with mine. But I clean my teeth after eating to avoid an infection. Works great for me. I even used hot black coffee when starting to melt the material bc my teeth are not snow white as in a commercial. My husband asked me the other day...when did you go to the dentist? I thought we are not allowed to do so, due to the pandemic. That's how good they look. I got it right the first time, you might need a little bit of practice but its worth to put in the effort. I would think so. It held really good for me, but I was using it to fill in a gap between my front teeth while waiting to get dental work done.

I used it to fill in a gap between my front teeth, until I had dental work done, and it worked really good. I used one of the tools that came with it to push it out. I am not sure if this will help in your situation.
