This kit contains all of the herbs you need to make your own healthy Elderberry Syrup at home. All you'll need is filtered water and your own local honey. Contents: Organic dried Elderberries Organic Cinnamon chips Organic Cloves Weight: 60 grams of herbs (minimum) Yield: 2-3 cups of Syrup Directions: Pour the contents of the jar into a saucepan with 4 cups of filtered water. Bring the pot to a boil and simmer on low until the water is boiled down to 2-3 cups (approx 30-40 min.), let cool. Use a fine mesh strainer and strain out the herbs, pressing the herbs to get all the liquid out. Add up to 1 cup of raw local honey to the liquid (make sure it is cooled because hot liquid will kill the healing properties of the honey). Mix until thoroughly combined, store in a glass jar in the refrigerator. If you use at least 1 cup of honey and store it in a dark glass jar, it can last for months. Lower concentrations of honey will have a shorter shelf life. *For a vegan option or for children under 2 years old, replace the honey with maple syrup or brown rice syrup. Standard dosage: Adults: 2 tsp. up to 3 times per day, Children: 1 tsp. up to 3 times per day. Kit shelf life: dried herbs will keep for 1-3 years when kept in a closed glass jar, preferably in a cool dark location.
