Q: Hi, what is expiry date of this product?

Hi Thanks for your interest in our vanilla! The short answer is that expiry is 2 years, less a month or two for stock holding in Amazon. The grade B pods you would be buying today would have an expiry date of April or May 2023. We operate a facility in Uganda (which has 2 vanilla seasons per year), where we cure relatively large volumes so you will always be receiving vanilla from a recent season unless stated otherwise. Having said that, to obtain the premium quality that we are known for, we condition all our vanilla for around 6 months after the green beans are harvested. If vanilla is stored well, it can in fact continue to develop a further depth of flavour for many years, much like a fine wine. For our gourmet grade A pods (i.e. not this product), we provide wax paper and resealable pouches so the pods can be kept for 2 years plus. For these grade B extract pods, which are dried further than grade A in order to give a more concentrated punch to vanilla extract (commercial or homemade), we vacuum pack them to keep them in stasis. Whilst this again allows the pods to be kept for a long period of time if desired, they will not be conditioning further (like our grade A pods would be) and we would generally recommend using them within say 6 months. Furthermore, if you don't use all 10 pods together once the pack is opened, please ensure that you store the remaining pods tightly packed together in a cool dry place, ideally wrapped in wax paper and sealed in an airtight packet.

Q: It states in the grower's information, organic farming is default, does this mean they are organic?

Hi, thanks for your question. Although the farmers we buy green vanilla from practice organic farming, their farms are not organically certified and so the vanilla from them cannot be labelled organic. Thank you.
