Songs from the Baobab: African Lullabies & Nursery Rhymes Hardcover – Picture Book, October 1, 2011

I was searching for songs from the continent to learn and sing with my new daughter. The whole house has fallen I love with the rhythm and voices. I especially love that the book translates each song and identifies which ethnic group or country it originates. Can't wait until she's a little older and can sing along. Very soothing. Just what I was looking for.

Introduced my granddaughters to this wonderful experience..they enjoyed the message & music greatly. I ordered this as a Christmas gift for them,wonderful surprise!

I ordered this album for my elementary music classroom for my world music unit. While it includes African lullabies, there are still peppy songs on here for many uses!Beautiful legacy.

This book is a beautiful compilation of traditional Lullabies & Nursery Rhymes. The music is very moving and interesting, the lyrics astounding, but the best is the illustration. It is brilliant.

No music CD, was not in the book

This did not come with the CD which was the main reason I bought it.

My son loves these songs! The book is nice because it has the words to the song, as well as the meaning/why the song is sung.

The book is so beautiful but I cannot use it since my product did not come with a CD, even thought the product description says it does and my book a cd pocket. I contacted the seller and got a generic response back. I hoping I get an Authentic response from a person soon and am able to get my CD. Customer service is what matters, so if my experience changes, I will update my review.

Preciosísimo. Lo he comprado varias veces para regalo y ahora para mis hijos. Las can colones don preciosas, viene con un libro con las canciones en su idioma y con la traducción en inglés. Y además con unos dibujos preciosos.

Me había hecho muchas ilusiones con este libro/cd pero no ha resultado como me esperaba.En cuanto a materiales y apariencia:Las tapas del libro son bastante robustas así que en principio por fuera cumple pero al abrirlo te das cuenta de que las páginas son de muy mala calidad y deslucen mucho las ilustraciones (que por cierto, son muy bonitas).Las explicaciones a pie de página sobre cada una de las canciones o nanas son interesantes y está genial poder tener la transcripción de la canción original y su traducción al lado.En el cd hay muchas canciones que como curiosidad están bien pero sólo hay dos o como mucho tres que merezcan la pena para ser escuchadas o cantadas o que sirvan para podérselas poner a un niño (por ritmo o sonoridad).No sé como explicarlo pero parece que muchas han sido añadidas sólo para rellenar y hubiera preferido menos y mejor calidad.Yo lo veo más como un libro para adultos que sientan interés por las lenguas y las diferentes culturas que para niños (esto unido a lo comentado anteriormente sobre la calidad de las páginas ha hecho que mi impresión general del producto no sea nada buena).Es una pena ya que podría haber sido un libro precioso pero para mí se queda en un quiero y no puedo.Yo no lo aconsejo si lo que buscas es un libro de nanas o canciones infantiles.
