Terrible quality control
This item arrived incorrectly assembled and in a dangerous condition. Two bolts attach the cast iron delivery tube component to the cast iron burner component. One of these bolts was mis-threaded and barely inserted. As a result, there is a gap between the two cast iron components of this burner through which propane would escape and ignite.

Excellent burner for home brewing
I use 3 of these in my home brewing stand. The pricing is amazing, and if anything, with my setup they can put out too much heat. That being said, once you get the spacing right, they are amazing. The fact that they include the flange adapter, and screws for mounting gives you a complete kit. Either use a single regulator, or hook them up to a gas manifold and you are in business. The only issue I had was that the box arrived broken open, probably from the tape not being able to handle UPS throwing the box around in a truck. Everything was in the box, so there were no issues, after all , its not like they are going to ding a cast iron burner. If you are a home brewer, these make a solid option for your brew stand. +1 !

good for it use, but poor craftmanship.
Since this has a fairly specific use, I'm going to assume you are building a brew sculpture or making some type of beer burner (like I was). The previous reviews are right on. It had a few castings still in the burner holes, but I was easily able to knock them out with a small screwdriver that fit in the hole. The other thing to mention is it has four mounting bolts and they are NOT square. So mounting it took a little bit of 'widening' the mounting holes I had made. The other thing is, this could double as an anchor. It is super heavy, but not likely to break which seems good. It came with an orifice and one mounted, then hooked to my 30lb regulator it put off enough heat during testing to remove my eyebrows! Awesome! I can't wait to actually use it during a boil.As for noise, it was VERY quiet compared to hurricane burners that I have been using. I was pleasantly surprised and plan to be able to hear music while brewing again. All in all, I would/will buy another one. Though, if there were another game in town on this, I would probably try them. Since there is not.... oh well.

These things are extremely poor castings. I work in the manufacturing industry and deal with castings every day. These are the worst I have seen. I have returned 2 in effort to receive one that will work. Hoping the third try will be okay. The threads that hold the orifice are almost non existent. The casting is so rough the air shutter will not turn. I would need to grind all of the flashing away to create clearance. I will do this if I can get one with threads that actually accept the orifice. I believe this burner will be a great bargain if I can get one that is cast correctly. If not, I will have to look, elsewhere and pay a bit more for a quality burner. These are cheap, but it looks like you get what you pay for.

What you need for big boils
This is my second Bayou Classic burner. I am a home brewer and have built a brew stand. I need to bring 15 gallons to a boil and this burner works great for that. It’s the standard by which all others are measured.
