This is a one-of-a-kind home accent on a beautiful piece of natural wood. The intricate arabesque design woodburned by hand on the tray originates from the Mamluk era in Egypt. The Mamluks were a slave dynasty which ruled Egypt and Syria for more than 250 years. They produced some of the most beautiful art and architecture in Egypt and the Levant. We tried to capture a piece of that historic beauty on this decorative wood tray. The tray has been accented with two carved and sea blue stained wooden birds. Technique: Pyrography Material: Basswood Stain: Ipswich Pine; Sea Blue Finish: Polyurethane Size: 10 x 13 x 0.8 inches
