This beautiful home decor wooden tray is inspired from a medieval arabesque design which comes from a wooden panel carved in 10th century Tunisia. During our travels we came across a fragment of wood with a carved arabesque from the Fatimid palace city of al-Mansuriya. The arabesque design from this piece, now in the Bardo museum, has inspired several of our designs here at The Arabesque. We used it in this beautiful spalt gum tray and accented it with two seablue stained hand carved birds. The natural beauty of the spalted gum combined with the woodburned medieval arabesque design will add the right amount of rustic, historical, and elegant beauty to any room in your home or office. This is piece is truly one of a kind. Technique: Pyrpgraphy Wood: Gum (spalted) Dimensions: 14.25" x 9" x 1" Finish: Polyurethane Handles: Oil rubbed bronze Stain (on birds): Sea Blue Wooden decorative tray; coffee table tray; coaster tray; arabesque design; Fatimid art; Medieval Islamic art; cheese plate; vintage; birds
