Good product!
I wear 8 1/2 or 9 so ordered size 9. Perfect fit! The toe taps sound good but the heal taps are not as loud. They appear to be good quality at a reasonable price.

True to size and decent quality
These shoes fit fine and are a great value for beginners. They are definitely not for pointe dancing. They do not seem to show excessive wear after a few weeks of use. One of the screws that attach the plates had unusable slots. That could be a problem if the plate ever loosened, but so far, so good. The profile of the heel is a bit narrower than the actual heel of the upper. It doesn't affect stability but could make heel clicks more challenging. Since the heel is clearly visible in the product photos, I won't deduct any stars.

Great shoes for the price
I was really happy to find these $30 shoes for a beginner tap class (all the name-brand shoes I found in this style were at least twice as much). They fit pretty true to size and are comfortable. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because when I went to put them on for my 3rd class, the tongue came out of one shoe. Luckily a few stitches and some E6000 glue solved that problem; they've held up well otherwise for several weeks now. The taps are secured well and they came with extra screws which was a nice touch.

True to form
The media could not be loaded. First, I take a 7 or 7½ in shoe size depending on material and how it's made. I have to say that these do fit to size. Ordered a 7½ and they slid on nicely. A little tight getting them off but not too much. They do sit a bit to the ankle but that should get better the more they are worn.Second, they do not have any sort of weird chemical smell. They just smell like new shoes and leather. It's like buying a new car and having new car smell.Third, they didn't have any indication they were used previously or were a return. Brand spanking new all around. Even came with extra screws. Finally, I can't compare in overall sound as it's my first pair of taps but they sound pretty nice to me and the metal holds together fine. I do recommend these for beginners. Not sure on just how long they will last though. We shall see.

Good shoe for beginner
I just started taking tap lessons and wanted an inexpensive shoe as I don't know if I will do tap long-term. These shoes fit the bill. The shoes are pretty comfortable and the tap sound is good. After reading some reviews, I ordered 1/2 size larger than my normal shoe size as I thought it would be better for the shoes to be a little big than too small. I wish I had ordered my normal shoe size as I have been wearing heavier socks than I might have otherwise. But it's not a huge deal so I didn't bother returning the shoes.

These run narrow and small
They seem like a good quality, but they run small. I have a somewhat narrow foot and I am like a 10.5, so I ordered an 11 and they were very tight especially at the toes. I will be returning for a larger size.

THE BEST TAP SHOES!
I have always used Danshuz because that's what everyone else was using and they were available locally. I invested in bandages and mole skin pads to protect my feet because I thought that was normal. No more. These shoes have changed my thinking forever. They were soft and supple right out of the box. They have an Achilles heel pad built in that is super soft. They fit perfectly right out of the box. They sound great. I will never use a different brand again. I'm so happy!!!I normally wear between an 8.5 and 9 in regular women's shoes. I measured my foot using the chart in the pictures and shrugged. My dance shoe size never lines up, but these did. I ordered a size 9. My feet are lightly wide near the toes and I have the right amount of room. I might never take them off.To measure your foot, you put on the typical socks you would wear and then stand on a piece of paper. Put all your weight on that foot. Draw a line at the top of your big toe and at the back of your heel. Pull out a ruler and measure that span. Then look at the pictures of the item which contained the manufacturer's size chart and compare. Round up. Do not use the generic Amazon chart. Voila!

fit wide feet
These shoes fit my very wide feet! I wore them to my first step class and they were great. Very comfy, excellent fit. I'd say they run true to size
