They're good----but....
First things first. I have a gigantic Marmaduke-Scooby-Doo cross dog. If those two dogs had an illegitimate love child , it would be my dog. He weighs upwards of 70 pounds. That being said, he's generally very sweet and accommodating, but he's still a puppy, less than a year old. In the main, we don't need to trim his nails. He has a large piece of property to run around on and that keeps his claws at a reasonable length---most of the time. I've had other, smaller dogs that weren't as outdoorsy as he is, so I have a wide variety of experience in all manner of dog-grooming escapades. I know how to hold them, to calm them, to get the job done. Now back to my over-grown but sweet baby. He was sweet---Until he met my bedspread. My. Bedspread.(If you have one, this would be an appropriate time to play a funeral dirge for my bedspread.)So, I bought these clippers. One- They work. There's a little guard thing that keeps the claw from poking through overly much. The clipping is quick and painless. They seem well-made, are easy to grip and have a locking mechanism so that you can close them and keep them closed.but Two- That's all they are. There's no magical dust that flies out and calms your dog. There's nothing about these clippers that is anything special over and above any other brand you might buy at Amazon, a pet store, or any other place that sells such things. If you're looking for something spectacular to help you deal with your big baby, these clippers are not going to do it for you. You'll still have to corral the dog, fake him out into thinking you're not doing anything, go to the ER after he claws your face off, find him when he bolts away to the safety of his hiding space, find a neighbor to help you....and trim his nails like you would with any other clipper.

Best Dog Clippers!!!
My wife and I had just adopted a wonderful Wire Haired Dachshund so we were of course in the "buy the dog accessories" mode. 'Jacko' has those tough black nails, which had been trimmed, but with our wood floors we wanted to ensure we kept them trimmed, so on our must buy list was a good set of quality Dog nail clippers. My two priorities were to get a very good quality set (i.e. padded grips, strong cutting blades, smooth motion). When I saw these on Amazon I was impressed with the feature that helped to ensure we wouldn't cut into the "quick" of his nails (very painful, and they bleed). They have a cutter "stop guard" feature which you can use to control the amount of nail you cut. Upon receiving the clippers, my initial impression upon opening the package was very positive. They are well-made - a quality product. The padded handles not only make them comfortable and easy to grip, but eliminate any “oops” moments caused by your hand slipping on the handle. Very easy to squeeze and control. the blade/cutter part is also very well made. You just get the feeling you’re holding a professional quality set of clippers. In terms of cutting our dog’s nails, he has dark/black nails, so it’s not easy to see the ‘quick’ inside them. Fortunately, the clippers come with a good set of instructions which served us very well in that regard, giving detailed guidance on cutting in small increments until a white ring was visible. The cutting depth guard is adjustable, so I used that to ensure I could cut in small increments as per their instructions. These are sharp clippers and cut our dog's rather tough nails easily and quickly. In short, these are keepers for us and we believe we bought the best clippers on the market.

I love supporting small businesses
Item arrived promptly and well packaged. In addition, I received a personalized email from the family business! I love supporting small businesses! Our rottie didn't mind her nails clipped when she was young, so both we and professionals were able to clip her nails easily. (Well, the professionals more easily. :) She is a sweet dog, but now that she is 9 yrs old, with lots of medical interventions in her life (toxic bite between her toes, inflamed lymph system, diabetes, knee surgery), she is a little grumpier when someone is messing with her, including her paws. (She is managing diabetes and recovered well from everything else!) So we approach optimistically and don't push her past a couple snips here and there. These clippers are sharp, and easy to grasp and squeeze, but I am not an expert nail trimmer by any means! We recently had our experienced and professional pet and home sitter try them out, as well as an old pair we had. I just spoke with her today. She also only had the opportunity to trim a couple nails during her 4 day stay, but mentioned the angle threw her off a little. I'm sure she probably just didn't have time this stay to reorient to them when our dog was giving her the "I'm done with this!" treatment. So I would say she just didn't have enough experience with them to form a valid opinion. I appreciated the other reviews, especially the video, about their benefits. Maybe someone will post a short "clip" (pun intended) of the clippers being used. Thanks for caring so much about the quality of your product and your customer service! I plan to continue to use them for our dog's occasional toenail trims.

Great Nail Clippers - Would Recommend
Great dog clippers which were really easy to use on my 3 dogs who are used to having their nails clipped at the groomers. The nail file was an bonus, would definitely recommend.
