Thermopanel 12mm Tile Backer Board - (600 x 400 x 12mm)

I have used to back out a couple of showers now floor and walls. I would not use anything else, once squared, taped and sealed it is a joy to tile over with peace of mind that your shower will not leak, also provide some soundproofing and insulation. They do have some versatility, I have also used on the walls of an internal water cylinder cupboard and a boiler room. The walls were a bit scruffy, this gave some insulation and gave the walls a much nicer finish (might even paint over). They are easy to cut, I have found that the best method is with a sharp Stanley knife or similar using a straight edge, using a fine toothed saw is possible but you do get numerous shards from the cement which can be messy, knife is neater.

Easy to work- cut, puncture with an awl and screw down, good and rigid for my purposes: replacing a rotting shower cubicle recess shelf as installed by a numpty. A pleasure to tile onto. One thing- I’m not sure what Thermopanel is actually made from, but it does produce a fair amount of fine dust when cut or sawn, not something you’d necessarily want to breath in (if cutting in large quantities) as the dust irritated the skin on my hands, which might’ve been either the grey coating or possibly the embedded fibre mesh running through it. All in all good stuff though, a lifesaver.

I use this product as a substrate for my mosaics. Its easy cut with a Stanley knife and weighs very little. The mosaic glue adheres very well and the edges can be grouted after cutting out the shape. Great service from this supplier, arrived on time and was well packaged. I would definatley reorder this product again.

My use may be surprising to the seller but after looking at lots of You tube videos I decided to buy this to see if it was what everyone was talking about on their channels and it was. It is actually great for mosaic work . Light and easy to cut. And more environmentally friendly I guess than using wood. Although it looks like it is held together with fibre glass so probably a mask should be worn when cutting.Will be buying more.

Cheaper than I could get elsewhere same quality. Used for under floor heating and wall tile backer board. Need to get the fixings if using on a wall.

Great to use as thermal protection in wardrobes or sound reduction in between stud walls.

Board has very slight curvature that can be easily accommodated when mounting tiles. Can be applied to stud work with screws or to existing solid walls with plaster board bond/adhesive. Reassuring background on which to tile

I used this as a layer of stiff insulation between the hot and cold heasinks of a peltier. Seems very good for this and is easily cut (though does shed a few glass fibre type fragments which irritate like glass fibre does when cut.)
