Size:WaveShield 1000 Regular The vast majority of electromagnetic radiation emitted by cellular and cordless phones comes from the antenna and parts of the phone other than the ear piece. Wave shield products have no effect on this electromagnetic energy. They are made to reduce the strength of electromagnetic-field emissions from cell phone ear pieces by as much as 50-97% depending on the cell phone model. Teenagers and children are at the greatest risk as their brain tissues continue to grow and radiation penetrates deeper into their skull. Microwave to the head is extremely hazardous to children. Parents in some European nations are now warned to keep children away from cell phones. A University of Utah researcher found the younger the child, the more radiation is absorbed by the brain. Spanish researchers have shown that cell phones can alter electrical activity of a child's brain for hours, causing drastic mood changes, behavior and learning disabilities. Scientists fear that cell phone radiation could damage human embryos. Pregnant women are advised to be wary. A cell phone must greatly increase its field strength to maintain communications within the metallic cage of an auto. Thus, the effect of microwave radiation inside a vehicle is especially intense. Volkswagen of Europe has warned that cell phone usage inside a car can be injurious to health due to the extremely high electromagnetic fields generated. Brain tumor-related rates in USA have increased by 25% since 1975. Brain tumors are almost always fatal and most people die within 6-12 months after diagnosis. On 4-70-2002, 60 Minutes aired a fascinating report on the brain, explaining that scientists are unsure why incidence of the disease is growing so exponentially. George Carlo, who headed-up the Industry-sponsored research efforts, now uses a headset with his cell-phone. And an underwriter for Lloyd's of London made international news this year when he refused to underwrite cellular manufacturers against future health risk.

It's a sticker. It sticks on things. It doesn't protect anything, though.
I suppose you could argue that this is a valid product because the description doesn't actually claim that it does anything except stick to your phone. It's a sticker, so it will do that. The product name suggests the sticker will somehow protect you from cell phone radiation. It won't do that, because after all it's just a sticker. You also can logically demonstrate that the device doesn't work--if it actually prevented your cell phone from "radiating" then it would also prevent your cell phone from working (cell phones work by deliberately emitting radio waves).

Does not have the official Wave Shield Gold logo so I doubt it is the real thing. Just a flat matte black sticker with a gold colored screen. Not the item pictured!

Cell phones are great, but you need to shield yourself from the microwaves that they use for you to communicate. This shield can be proven that it shields you from the microwaves. I won't talk or use a cell phone that doesn't have a wave shield on it!!!

Not what you think it is.
I was given this product by someone who truly believe it works. I decided to look it up on line, to see if there was any information about the product and its claims. This is what I found:[...]This is the official page of the Federal Trade Commission. I was certain, when given the product, that it was not what people thought it was. Some people have purchased this piece of rubber with a small screen for $20, which is a shame, considering that the FTC report states that the same thing could be accomplished with a piece of (albeit, unattractive) cardboard. Before purchasing this item, consider that: 1. This product is more or less a placebo for those who are afraid of radiation overdose. 2. Limiting cell phone use, which the FTC recommends, accomplishes the same thing, as do hands free devices. 3. $20 is a lot to pay for a little piece of rubber with screen. As for those of you who will buy this product anyway, to ease your own minds, it's a rather annoying addition to my phone's ear piece. My phone is a flip phone, and it will not close all the way with the WaveShield on it. The piece is also just backed to stick to your phone like a sticker, and I doubt very much that it will last long, I give it two weeks tops before it slides off the phone due to hair/dirt/etc.In this economy, it's necessary to make smart decisions about our purchases. This thing is worthless AND Useless. That, and I most certainly would never buy anything from a company that plays on our fears.

It Works
I had this for a year, it never fell off of my phone. The phone was not as hot either. So it does help.
