2 good knives one snapped and cut my hand
The chip carving knife is good the whittling knife is great but the hook knife blade snapped at the handle. It happened as I was scooping a piece of birch and it cut my hand. Fortunately it was only a small cut, but given the pressure I was putting on the blade if the hook was facing my wrist it could have caused some serious damage. This is a good product but this flaw has the potential to be seriously dangerous!!!

Great starter carving knife set for the price
This set was much better than I expected it to be sharp enough to carve straight out of the packet and comes with almost everything to get you started (just missing a carving glove for the beginner). The roughing out knife even coped well with a carving seasoned Laurel so I'm very well impressed with the blade quality at this price point. The handles are a nice shape to grip and comfortable to grip.

Very much enjoying using this, bought a whittling book to go with it, and some mesh gloves for safety.

Good set. Sharp out of the box but the strop and compound put a mirror finish on the blades.
