This brand recently popped up in my local Weis supermarket next to the Near East brand quinoa blends. After having sampled both of the Near East varieties, I was slightly disappointed in the flavor intensity of this product. I was caught off guard by the extremely mild taste considering that spices are listed in the ingredients. The mushroom flavor is also very mild and I can imagine someone who doesn't enjoy mushrooms liking this. This may be a plus if you'd like to add your own spices and vegetables. I added some ground peppercorn and sea salt on the second tasting and that seemed to bring out more of the flavor.This mix contains dried mushroom and onion pieces which vary from very large to tiny depending on the container. I'm giving this four stars for the fact that the ingredients are 100% natural, the mild taste makes this mix very versatile, and that one container will last you a looong time.

Tastes Delicious, just add a little salt!
I purchased this at a local supermarket and my entire family absolutely loved it! I liked it enough to search it out on amazon.com and that saids something for a side dish! I have no idea why so many people are saying it was bland because I thought it was very flavorful and tasty. I did add extra salt, so maybe that made all the difference. I have no affiliation with this company and just wanted to give my honest opinion. Good luck!

Bland.
No flavor. It smelled great before I cooked it but once done and tasted, it was very bland.

Not worth it
Very bland and I literally broke my tooth from biting down on hard gritty substance in this. Awful!

Almost broke my tooth, full of sand or something
Title says it all. Both my husband and I felt this was inedible. And we had a box with 3 flavors. They all had the gritty sand bits. We were disappointed as we have tried a lot of quinoa, and never had this problem.
