This is the best product I've found all year.
I'm not one to write a lot of reviews, but I felt obligated to publicly praise this product. I'm a person who enjoys rigorously A/B testing every product in my bathroom, but after trying ethique, I feel no need to ever buy another conditioner. I have some very strict requirements, and this bar performs better than I ever expected across each bullet:* it's a great price for how long it lasts* it comes in zero-waste packaging (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)* it's super easy to use despite being a bar - it's not crumbly and it doesn't melt* it's chemical free and all ingredients score low on the EWG database* it's suds free so it doesn't hurt the environment* it nourishes my dry, brittle ends without being greasy or oily* it doesn't contain apple cider vinegar (b/c that ingredient actually damages your hair over time)I have really dry ends because I used to color my hair, but I also have a fairly greasy scalp. This conditioner has made my hair so unbelievable soft without exacerbating the oil issue. I went to my hairdresser and she immediately noticed a difference in the texture of my hair and remarked on how healthy it felt and looked. This has never happened to me before. I felt like a hair champion. Some tips while using (although this conditioner is stupid simple to use): - store in a container so the bar can dry out between usages. I have a little jar with a screw-on lid on the side of my tub, and the bar lives in there - don't be fooled by the small size of the bar! Yes, it's small but it lasts forever - if you have oily hair and you're nervous about using the bar, instead of rubbing the bar directly on your hair, just swipe it once across your palm and apply the product manually. You can always build up with another layer if you feel like you didn't get enough - finally, once you are converted and realize this is the best conditioner you've ever used, buy in bulk directly from the company so that you ship only once using eco-friendly packing materials! Woo!

Works on Curly Hair
So I'm going on this new low impact beaty routine. I bought this bar when my conventional conditioner ran out and I was ready to swap it out for something solid. It has a very different light texture compared to conditioners I've used in the past. It feels like "it's doing nothing" but when my hair dried it was very soft.

Not sure if the compromise is worth it
I'm not sure how I feel about this. It does smell great, I was attracted to it because I like the idea of package-free soap, and the claim that the bar lasts longer than bottles of conditioner and works great to tame frizzy hair were appealing to me. I've tried the shampoo and I like it--because it lathers easily, it's just as simple as using shampoo from a bottle. The conditioner is a different story though. Because it does not lather, this means you are rubbing the conditioner on your hair (more like "pressing it on the hair" from root to tip, in sections.) It takes longer and there's the terrible uncertainty that you're not getting enough of it on the hair or not covering all the hair. I have enough uncertainty in my life, I don't need it in the shower too... So, while I understand the merits of the conditioner bar, it's not as convenient as traditional conditioner and I'm not convinced that it works better. The trade-off wasn't worth it for me.

Works well, but not as efficient as it claims
This conditioner bar really works, and works well, on my long, thick hair. I ordered it in my pursuit of a plastic-free shower routine and I really appreciate Ethique's alignment with that goal, and doing so with a quality product. HOWEVER, this bar did not last nearly as long as it claimed. Yes, I have a lot of long hair so I probably use more than the average customer, but the box says it replaces something like 8 bottles of conditioner. Hahahahahahahahaha! Unless you have a crew cut, I doubt you can make it last that long. It lasted me about two months -- before it broke into multiple pieces that are difficult to use efficiently. I am lucky to be near a Colorado company that makes conditioner bars in thick discs, which last longer because they wear down as discs and do not break in half. Plus, they are much thicker for the same price. I'll probably just stick with them.

This is really the most superior low-waste-packaging conditioner I’ve encountered
This is really the most superior low-waste-packaging conditioner I’ve encountered. It is a bit expensive upfront, but it lasts a long time; much longer than you’d think for a smallish bar.I use it for co-washing and sometimes regular conditioning. My best tip is this: Apply it liberally all over, then run just a little bit of water over your head to soak it into your hair and work it into your roots with your fingers. Then go over the top of your hair once more. This gives you the most thorough conditioning, and it’s absolutely essential if you’re co-washing.

It’s pure magic. Get it.
As a nappy long haired gal, I can finally say I use more shampoo than conditioner. I’ve gone through two Ethique shampoos and still am on the first conditioner bar with more than half left. (Though I also use the shampoo bars to wash my body and sometimes my face so it runs out quicker) I bought it in JUNE.Amazing products, you feel good about using them. Has a better detangling quality than conditioners with silicone.
