I am fairly new to wet shaving with double edged safety razors. I recently decided to up my game and bought a number of new items to add to my shaving routine; this was one of them. Along with a decent safety razor, shaving brush, shaving cream, and a bowl for building lather, this product complements it all perfectly.I tried this product for the first time today after a two pass shave with a Merkur safety razor and Proraso rinfrescante shaving cream. I could feel it working and absorbing into my skin. I had some minor irritation on my neck from shaving against the grain, but using this block soothed the burning immediately. I also had one small nick which the block took care of too.I originally thought this product wouldn’t be of much use to me. I would normally just rinse with water and apply aftershave. I’m glad I bought his product and will continue to use it every time I shave. It’s a really nice way to finish off a close shave and it feels good too.

Perfect solution for nice and razor burn. I have also used it on larger cuts as well.

If you’re deciding whether to buy it or not, BUY IT PLEASEEEE. I used to try so many aftershave products but none worked until I tried the alum block. Doesn’t sting, but keeps my skin clean from bumps. The absence of a scent helps tremendously as well.

This has been a great edition to my shaving routine. It prevents ingrowns and it's scentless so it's great for my sensitive skin. One bar will last you a long time as well. I haven't been able to make a dent in it and I shave almost everyday. Very affordable too. The only reason I docked a star is because the two times I've ordered this product it arrived broken. I do wish the packaging was better but otherwise it's great!

Works well, stops weeping little shaving injuries from continuing to weep.I recommend it.

Stops those nasty little bleeders when I shave. Nice size too; just wet the end and rub it all over your face. I expect it to last months. The plastic box is a good touch too. Keeps the bar clean and dry. Okey doke, cheers!

Not solid alum .. This is a pressed mineral block the edges are rough and the block is a bit gritty.. still works but a little rough on my skin.
