Creative, Witty, Good Supplement for Studies in Logic
Overall great book on logical fallacies:Con: not going to lie, some of the examples of fallacies are hard to follow because I believe they are trying too hard to be funny or are being way to witty about them (or maybe because I’m not as bright as the gents who wrote this book). I will say I am starting to catch on to the examples and humor by checking the answer key and listening to Doug more often on their Canon app. He is a witty and wise fellow.Pro: creative and the stories on each fallacy are easy to follow for the most part; each lesson/ch. takes about 10-15mins to complete (depends on how long you want to cogitate on certain questions and thoughts). Every other chapter or so usually gets a chuckle or two out of me. Nice supplemental lessons to add at the end of my studies in traditional logic. More Christians should get involved in academia to produce content like this or even better!

Hard things made fun
This is such a fun resource for children to better understand logical fallacies. The author uses creative, whimsical creatures to illustrate the sometimes hard to understand logical fallacies by making each one a character in a chapter. I highly recommend this book to every family!

Very pleased!
This is so fun to read! We use it as a supplement to another informal logic video series, and my children really enjoy it. It could easily stand alone as an introduction for many ages (we use it for grades 5-11). There are quizzes and tests for free on their website- and a schedule in the back of the book. The writing style alone is worth the purchase! Good buy.

The book doesn't work unless you are a Christian conservative
I should have done my homework, but the title caught my attention and I wanted to give it a try. You can immediately tell that the author has a politically conservative viewpoint but I figured that didn't matter, a logical fallacy is a logical fallacy regardless of your political standing, right? The author gives you exercises at the end of each logical fallacy to test your ability to spot them. I didn't agree with some of them, but two in the Ipsie Dixit section prompted this review.Ipsie Dixit: The fallacy of defending a proposition by baldly asserting that it is "just how it is" distorts the argument by opting out of it entirely: the claimant declares an issue to be intrinsic, and not changeable.Exercise #3 "Adam wasn't the first humanoid. My professor explained how we evolved from apes."Author claims is a Ipsie Dixit.Exercise #7 Israelite: 'I suppose I plundered my neighbor's gold because Moses told me to..." (Ex. 12:36).Author clams no logical fallacy.Maybe I just don't get it, but if your professor is an expert in evolutionary biology the statement would be fine, correct? If your professor is a mathematician maybe not so much. For exercise #7, maybe the statement in context isn't a logical fallacy but I don't know the context. On it's own, it feels like an error in logic has been made. Both arguments seem to be of the same type. I did/believe X because (authority figure) told me Y. I feel like they should both be scored the same not different. Maybe because Moses has God's wisdom he can't do or say anything illogical? Examples like these make me feel like the book might just be wrong in it's assertions. I'll be looking to learn about logical fallacies from another source

Content fantastic. Binding terrible.
The content is great. The voice of the stiff-upper-lipped British explorer is a surprisingly memorable way to learn your fallacies.I would have liked to see this book at a much cheaper price due to the incredibly garbage binding. The glue job is awful. I was sure the first copy I received was a misprint. My wife opened it up and flipped through it and two pages fell out! I returned it thrice trying to get a good copy and I'm afraid it doesn't exist. All of the bindings are terrible. I considered buying just the pdf and printing it myself but couldn't stomache the cost.So I have the book. I really enjoy learning from it. The binding is just so bad.

Renvoyé tout de suite, à éviter.I was really hoping to find a funny introduction to logical and rhetorical fallacies. Instead, this book is rather the opposite. Written by a pastor, it spreads right-wing and Christian propaganda, opposing e.g. gay marriage and climate change mitigation and framing Christians as the victims of liberals. Sent it back immediately, they shall not have my money

Good fun
Its a fun read but definitely aimed at children. Some of the fallacies didn’t use the most common name, but that’s probably a matter of age and location of the reader. Could have done with some more examples for fallacies that have multiple sub-types.
