Great results, easy application, takes time
We are waiting for the last layer of top coat to dry - should be dry and door installed by midnight. We started the process at 8am. I recommend you get an earlier start. It takes time to remove/clean door, tape off windows, screw wood into top and bottom, and set up on sawhorses. After coat 1, it takes at least 6 hrs to dry. Then, you can choose to darken it by adding another bottom coat + 6 hrs or you can move on. Next, you add two layers of top coat - taking 2hrs drying time for each. The results are nice - it looks like stained wood. I'm impressed with the color and shine. The directions were a breeze, we just didn't think ahead of time about how long it would all take.

$100 Kit and we only used the Brush
We researched the Therma Tru website, color options and spoke with customer service for many weeks leading up to staining our American Classic Craft Fiberglass Door. We physically looked at Therma Tru doors with the English Walnut Stain in stores as well. My wife and I have lot's of experience painting and staining wood and doors so we thought we could take on this challenge. We prepped the door and applied the stain to the samples provided in the kit. We split the sample in 4ths and applied the English Walnut on 2 strips, a Sherwin Williams Stain on a strip and a Varthane Kona Stain on the 4th strip. We wanted to see the differences in the stain before we applied the final product. We let the Therma Tru English Walnut sit for 5 minutes and another sample sit for 15 minutes before we wiped the stain off. Each of those samples looked very similar and we were not happy how light colored the final color was. The Sherwin Williams stain was ebony based and that turned out ok. The Varathane Kona also turned out ok in color and was comparable in color as if you were staining real wood. We the let the samples sit in front of a fan for 2 hours while it dried. Then we applied the water based poly which was included in the kit to all 4 stripes of stain. We let the samples sit for another 2 hours to let it dry. The water based poly adhered to the English Walnut strips and the Varathane Kona but it flaked off the Sherwin Williams stain and removed the stain from the sample completely if you scratched it with your finger. At this point we were frustrated and decided to use the Varathane Kona as our final color. It went on the door beautifully and turned out great! We then decided to use the Minnwax Water Based Poly because it was less milky color and left a better finish than the Therma Tru water based product. Overall we spent $100 on the Same Day Stain Kit and we only used the blending brush. The door turned out great using all non Therma Tru products.

I loved this kit
I loved this kit. It had everything I needed. I used it on a pre-hung wood grain fiberglass door and two 10" side lights. Had plenty left over in case you have the 12" sidelights. Very happy with the results.

Not as advertised
The stain takes a couple days to dry. Next time I would just go and buy stain from Lowes, then my own polyurethane. Not worth the money

Good product not as dark as the picture
I think the product was good highly expensive than regular stain but I guess it had to be for the type of product I was staining.I applied the product on the front side of the door and when I was done I went back and wiped it off it was not near long enough I barely took a color. Applied it again and let it sit for a good 35 minutes before wiping down- Better but still not as dark as a picture

Not as expected
It is named Same-Day Stain; however, the stain never successfully dried. I followed the directions exactly, and ended up having to clean off all the stain with mineral spirits. Now I have to prime and attempt to paint over it. My exterior door is brand-new fiberglass. The test I did with the stain never dried either. It was a waste of money.
