I read the reviews before purchasing, so I was aware of what others thought were the strengths and shortcomings of this Shoot Gopro cage. What I wasn't prepared for was that parts would arrive damaged. Specifically, the threads on the 1/4-20 x 3/8" screw that holds the cold shoe in place were already stripped. (I double-checked the tap hole was ok by threading the other thumbscrew in fine.)Whether this happened during some QC test fit or the screw was a reject part nobody caught, I cannot tell. Bottom line: now I have to go chase down a replacement screw on my way to the shoot, not cool!Why make a sweet aluminum cage with nifty features, them ship it with low-quality OEM fittings that are unuable?If I can't find the replacement screw, I am returning the entire assembly!

Have always watched for a frame for my GoPro 6 so I can mount an LED light above my camera. This is it. Very strong and lightweight. Be sure to use Loctite Blue or Teflon tape to keep the screws in place. Bummer if they should loosen off while traveling. Carry spare screws. This frame is too big for my GoPro 4 Silver so bought another GoPro 5 so I now have 3 cams to work with. Love the way light is now shown wherever I point the cams. It's like holding a flashlight with my cams. I strongly recommend you buy this. BTW there's no sliding door on the back like the other turquoise frame selling for a bit more. Makes for faster changing batteries and micro SD cards. I just stick on blue painter's tape for insurance to prevent the GoPro from accidentally sliding out. Remember: Use Loctite Blue for the small screws and Teflon tape for the bigger flash shoe screw on top. Have fun.

This frame is hefty in weight and very sturdily built. It has everything you need to create a good footage. a slave top for lighting or microphone attachment, a lens filter and thread to place more glass filter, a tripod thread at the bottom. It is a good purchase for the price and should allow you a very streamline set up for your gun and run or set up static shooting project.

It looked amazing when I got the product. I think it was well designed and constructed till i put the go pro in it.. how do you secure camera? Then i realized that there was a screw at the side of the case where you need to screw it in and holds your go pro in place.. I am not a fan of this securing method. I bought my go pro for 300+ dollars and the only way of keeping it in was a screw. I am afraid of possibly damaging the go pro by overtightening it even before using it.An open frame door with a screw would have better solution in keeping the go pro secure.

The sliding door on the back is not in a tight groove so it rattles work any motion. Not usable when shooting video due to the noise it creates.Would not buy this again.

Good mount. Having the box for mic adapter is a great feature. Only con is it makes the camera top heavy and tall so keep that in mind when mounting it places.

I was skeptical when purchased this case. But the last time tried in the airplane in full sun, my GoPro Hero7 Black ran for about over an hour until the batteries quit. But no shutdown due to heat. I think it works :)The only thing one has to be careful with is the tightening screw. You can easily damage the camera housing by over tightening it.

This added versatility to the go pro along with added protection.
