This was bought to replace an old fluorescent strip light - and even though it was fitted to a ceiling c. 12ft high, its light weight meant that wiring was straightforward. Even better, there is significant tolerance when screwing the attaching brackets into the ceiling, and the brackets are tied to the frame so lining them up is very easy. I thought this was going to be a tricky installation but not at all.Once installed the brightness is very good.Highly recommended.

I wanted a narrow light to fit under a garage rafter. Despite the photo making it look almost light a normal fluorescent light fitting this is a very slim light. It is fractionally over an inch wide. It is very bright and lights instantly. There is a lack of fitting instructions, but it wasn't difficult to fit. The two fixing brackets have a plastic cord attaching them to the light body. I gently squeezed the light body to release the clips and cut the plastic cord off. The power feed point is at one end and is basically just a piece of connector block under a plastic securing cover.I used the box the light came in as a marker guide for the brackets. From memory I set the distance at 30 inches between the fixing points (50 inch light).I screwed the brackets to the rafter, but left a little play so that they could be properly lined up when fitting the light. There isn't any great clearance under the light for the cable, so if you are using proper 1.5 mm square cable you can either fix the brackets to some packing or, as I did, cut a slight channel in the rafter. I connected the power to the light and taped the earth wire up out of the way (unit is double isolated and needs no earth - it says). Finally I pushed the light into the brackets, which gave a satisfying click and that was it. I actually use this light now as it lights up with no waiting or false starts like the very old fluorescent it replaced.The unit was pretty well packed in a box covered in bubble wrap.

The light fitting is well made and arrived undamaged. packaging excellent.Installing it was more of a problem as the Instructions are useless, apart from properly dealing with dangers when of concealed pipes and cables. No information whether it could be wired in series, rather than parallel. I have added a photograph of the instructions to this review.The product is let down by the lack of information on the correct way prepare and to fit the light in position, other than by indicating that you need to remove the fixing brackets from the back of batten (how? - slide them off, or carefully pulling apart the edges of the channel which they fit into?) Whilst it is pretty obvious that the fixing brackets should be some distance apart so the load is spread evenly; no advice on the recommended gap apart from the almost supercilious advice to ensure the correct distance is measured between the brackets (which is?) I chose a couple of feet between the brackets which worked fine.I found that actually fixing does not require accurate measurement. I removed the brackets by carefully pulling the two edges apart so that the plastic retaining block inside the light pulled out. Drill 2 holes, 2 or 3 foot apart in the wall/ceiling and screw the brackets into the wall/ceiling. Then holding the light itself in such a way that you are able (by pulling on the edges of the light) to insert the plastic block that holds the light to the bracket. You then squeeze the edge of the light so that it clicks into place on the ceiling/wall. You can then very easily slide the light into the precise position you need when it is in position on the ceiling wall.. So, no need to remove the plastic fitting at each end of the light. I accomplished this all single handed. Not easy and would have taken much less time had I had someone to help.I fitted 2 lights electrically in parallel, to my loft central ridge beam to replace 2 old type light bulbs. The result was excellent the lights provide good ‘white’ light and will make working in the loft so much easier. I will certainly buy again to replace old style neon lights.

I ordered two lights One had come broken. I contacted the customer service by the next day. I had a new one here. Great illumination great product for the price

Simple, well made & worksMultiple purchases.

Arrived quicker than promised. Easy to install as supports can be temporarily removed from light (twist with pliers) so fitting can be made without light in way. Simply reinstall by twisting connectors back into place and press up to fitting. Good light and completely stable and instant light. Mine were stated at 22W but light was probably better so very pleased. One thing to note if replacing existing lights as these are much narrower than old fitting so may need to redecorate although not an issue in my case.

I purchased this light to replace an old fluorescent light in my garage. This was so easy to install it took me less than 15 minutes to complete. I have found the light is much smaller than my old light but provides much more light into my garage I was going to order 2 but I have found the 1 strip light is enough. I do not need to wait for the light starter anymore the light comes on straight the way. Just be aware the cable needs to access the light from the top there is no option to run the cable from the side. I am happy with this light I hope it lasts a good number of years.

I had found it was flickering, annoying me that I might have to return it. I took it apart, couldn't find anything wrong, put it back together then worked, what was that about, so was not easy to install, it's up and working have put on a PIR in the shed. Just hope it does not start flickering again. There could be a faulty part and I should have returned it. Is very compact and bright!
