Great for Pour-over coffee!!
I picked this kettle because it was one of the only ones I could find on Amazon that was made in Japan and induction compatible at this price point. I've been using it since May of 2020 almost every day to make pour over coffee at work and have been very happy with it. The water pours out of it in a smooth stream, making it quite easy to accurately deliver the water, and the wooden handle is at a comfortable pouring angle and remains cool to the touch.I haven't had any issues with rust forming, but I do not leave water standing in the kettle and I force air dry the kettle after use. There is some discoloration on the bottom, inside the kettle, however this was my fault. When I first started using the kettle, I would leave it on the cooktop after I was finished, on low heat, to dry out the kettle. On one such occasion, I had the heat turned up too high, which resulted in the scorched bottom. After nearly a year and a half of use, I'm very satisfied with this kettle. I had planned to order an electric kettle for home, but after some consideration, I think I just buy another one of these. Incidentally, this kettle's been at home for a month now, where I don't force air dry after use and still not showing any signs of rusting.

Excellent quality and performance, highly recommended!
Update: After a year of use this has not let me down once. I'm really using it 5-6 times a day now that it's been winter; heating water for coffee, tea, oatmeal, etc. There is zero rust anywhere. Also like to add that I'm glad I bought the one with the wood handle; I accidently left the stove on and had the lid resting on the top on it's side. If this was plastic it would have definitely melted into something gross, luckily the wood just got a bit darker. Again great kettle and highly recommended.Previous: A fantastic kettle! I've been looking for a quality stainless kettle with no plastic parts for quite sometime, so when I came across this I was thrilled. I was a bit skeptical of how the quality would be, but I couldn't be happier. Everything is finished very meticulously, it is simple yet elegant and sturdy. I've been using it twice a day, every day since I bought it, there is no sign of wear and I don't expect anything to come loose. The wood handle is riveted on nicely, and the wood top has a steel threaded shank pressed in, very quality manufacturing. The rest is finished flawlessly, no rough edges, and very well machined pieces. I worked a long time in manufacturing/engineering of steel products so I appreciate quality work.As for performance, I heat it between med-high and high and it takes about 6-8 minutes for 30oz (around 880ml) of water to come to boil. You will know exactly when it is boiling because there are three round holes in the lid that will start pouring steam out when it is ready. For those who like herbal or green teas these holes are nice to hang a thermometer though to keep an eye on exact water temperature (without having to take the lid off and cause inefficiency in heating). Also this kettle can be used on gas/electric/induction stoves, you could even take it camping and put it over a fire if you wanted to.If I could give this more than 5 stars I would, highly recommended and it is very fairly priced. Truly a breath of fresh air in a world where consumers are constantly burdened with overpriced junk.

Best entry pour over kettle
Beautiful, inexpensive, easy to control how to pour over. You will need different kettle for fast pour but this is enough for learning stage.Only con would be a stainless steel ion odor. You can smell that pretty strong when boiling in first time even after several wash. You can weaken this by boiling water with lot of baking soda. But smells will never go away completely.Seems that doesn't effect coffee flavor (odor doesn't transfer to water?), so may be not that important.

A Great Little Kettle!
We use it every morning to make pour over coffee. The 1.2 liter volume works well for boiling 30 oz (6 cups) of water for our 34 oz capacity coffee carafe and I recommend buying it instead of the 1.0 liter unit. The narrow diameter spout makes the pot ideal not only for making pour over coffee but also for any application that prefers a small stream of water, such as filling a teapot or cup. The wood handle does not get hot and has a nice feel in the hand. The handle also gives the pot a warm natural look and goes well with the well finished shiny stainless steel body and cover. I wipe it out and leave the cover off after each use to insure moisture does not accumulate in the pot. Although it's made of stainless steel, stainless can over time develop rust pits and I want to avoid that possibility. So far no rust!! After several weeks of use, I noticed a slight mineral buildup inside the pot which was easily removed by heating up a mixture of vinegar and water in the pot followed by a thorough rinse and towel dry. I use it on an inductive burner and it works fine. My final word is that it's a great little kettle!

Just What I Wanted
It does its job and looks good on my stovetop while not in use. The instructions and warnings are in Japanese, translatable using an app on your smartphone. Instructions say not to fill it past a particular line, but that line is very hard to see as it's a variation in the texture of the metal and is very slight.I use mine a little different than the traditional pour-over method. The French press is my favorite method and I use a combination of both french-press and pour-over to make my coffee. After the kettle has heated my water to 200 degrees I add my medium ground beans directly to the kettle and allow it to steep for 4 minutes. At that point, I use the pour-over drip and filter to pour into my mug. This gets the robust French press flavor and the smoothness of pour-over.

Simple and effective
I love the wood handle - it's comfortable, smooth, and doesn't transfer heat. Pour is steady and easy. Would happily purchase again if somehow this doesn't last my entire lifetime as I expect it to
