The Orthopedic Guys Shoulder Abduction Sling Rotator Cuff Immobilizer Support Brace with Pillow & Ball, Universal

I bought this to replace a sling the hospital gave me and charged my insurance $1400.00 for after my rotator cuff surgery. That sling was a popular name brand in the industry and had metal brackets instead of a pillow to maintain the position of abduction. The bracket and material/fabric became very uncomfortable and the sling was cutting off my circulation.This Orthopedic Guys sling is very comfortable and every bit as sturdy as the $1,400 piece, but with greater attention to details concerning comfort, via the surfaces that contact the skin, such as fabric and stitching. The pad that goes over the top of your "good" shoulder could have a softer edge and be made wider/longer, with more padding. Also the material can get hot inside as it isn't breathable or ventilated. Those are my only complaints. For the price, I still give it 5 stars because you can add your own padding to improve it and still be very economical.I did take parts (the best of) from both slings and perfected my sling and I'm finally able to sleep in it and wear it continuously without discomfort.If you just had shoulder surgery and are trying to find relief, add this to your arsenal of slings, as you will do better having different ones for different purposes such as going outside, staying indoors, sleeping and showering. I also change slings depending on the "pain of the day," as I have dubbed it.

I gave it a 4 only because I didnt used it yet. I only tested it out at home. It does feel comfortable and easy to use.

This thing had so many moving Velcro parts. Had to spend sometime figuring out where everything went. My husband had rotator cuff surgery and needed something better than the $10 sling the hospital gave him. He got this four days post op and has only used it three times in 10 days.

I bought this to keep my arm and shoulder stable and motionless after surgery on my shoulder. This is a great product. I highly recommend it.

Product as expected. Would have kept it but the hospital provided the same 1.
