Miracle-GroWater Soluble Plant Food Vegetables & Herbs 2 lb

While I mostly rely on organic fertilizers, this does work well for two critical areas: getting seedlings established well and for easing transplant shock. I use it at half strength for seedlings and full strength for transplants. Just one application works very well to boost seedling/plant vigor. Afterwards I switch to organics for the rest of the growing season.It's a granular fertilizer that dissolves readily with minimal agitation needed. The package needs to be sealed tightly to prevent the material from getting clumpy. I transfer it to a glass Mason jar for long term storage. It keeps well if tightly sealed and kept out of excessive heat.While organic fertilizers pay off big time for both plant and soil health, when a little boost is needed, this fits the bill very well. Five stars.

I'm a city dweller, have no outside land, so my garden is in my limited front windows where the sun comes in. In summer I can probably also use the back windows (morning sun). During these times of Covid while I'm stuck at home, I decided to grow some greens I can eat but will grow in pots and planters. They sprouted (surprise!), the seeds I planted. The vegetable stumps from the kitchen are also growing in most past and need to be transplanted into dirt pots but until then, they seem to be doing find hydroponically using Miracle Grow for Vegetables. I only need a small amount in my recycled water bottle, the stuff dissolves instantly (smells slightly of fertilizer until you add water and then it doesn't smell like anything, gets a pretty mild peach color though). My only gripe is the bag. The way it's designed, getting my hand in the bag so that little scoop (which helpfully comes with the bag) to scoop enough grains of stuff and pulling it out without all the grains falling out of the scoop before I can get it out--well, I don't know how people with bigger hands manage it. Once we're finished eating through that jar of mixed nuts, I intend to clean it pour the Miracle Grow into that container. I like that it reseals with a ziplock but the way the side pleats are melted together just doesn't work, the opening of the bag needs to open fully and it doesn't.
